Technically, we knew each other most of my life . . . with the exception of 5 years in the middle :)

More closely, hubby and I were friends for a couple of years before we started dating. At about 3 months, we were talking about marriage. 18 months is when we were formally engaged. 18 months after that we were married. Recently had our 10th anniversary!

We dated 2 years before getting engaged and had a one year engagement. I was 23 and he was 27. If Dh had his way we would have been engaged after 6 months of dating and married after about 8months. Owell, it worked out pretty well.

He proposed 8 weeks after we started seeing each other...married 4.5 months later...married 12 years in November...I was 25, he was 29

Plenty of people gave our marriage 6 months...interestingly, they are all now divorced, and we get stronger by the day...

We are in our 40's. We met online, which right there is a red flag in his family's eyes, including his son who is a bit suspicious. I think they have a right to be, however, since he also met his last love online, and that one didn't come out so good.

We began exchanging e-mails and phone calls (some lasting as long as 5 hours at a stretch) in April of 2007. In June of 2007 I relocated to be near him, over many a worried protest. But I did it. We both knew from the beginning that we would be married, but the engagement ring didn't come onto my finger until September 2007. Our wedding date is set for this upcoming October, over one year of official engagement. We don't want to leave any room for anyone to say we're crazy or rushing in.

WOOO HOO!!!

Maybe we should have been like that. Heck, we're as old as we are, why do we care what other people say?

That's funny, cos to begin with we thought we ought to wait a year to let everyone else get used to the idea (plus we told next to no-one about our engagement for sometime). As time went on though, we just thought "stuff it!" We just HAD to be married, so we stopped worrying about what other people thought, and did it anyway...

Interestingly, both families were completely fine, as were my friends... It was his friends that had a huge problem with it, but I guess we showed them, eh? ;)
