Oh Happy Day
Hi everybody! It sure is nice to feel so loved! I have missed you all too! Now that Mother's Day Out is over life has been VERY busy! Hopefully this next week things will get more "back to normal". I haven't read through all the thread, but how is doji doing????
I am in the process of ordering a new insulin pump and I am so excited. I wish they weren't so expensive but man technology is really helping fight diabetes!!!!!!

It's been a pretty normal rainfall year here as far as I can tell. Last year was very wet and the year before that, we had drought and watering restrictions!

By my calculations, Doji and family should have arrived in Indiana sometime yesterday afternoon or evening. They left Monday. They don't have a laptop so we won't hear from them till they can get set up and get back onlline.
How does the new insulin pump differ from what you had before, LT?

Oh I hope Doji and family are all doing well!!!! I can't wait to hear how it all went! The new insulin pump just has some newer settings and its the first one that is waterproof which will be really nice! They are even making some now that you can control through a blackberry to give insulin! Technology is amazing!

We just got a Blackberry so that would be SO COOL for hubby to give insulin that way! How cool would that be? Right now he looks like some kind of commando with all his "stuff" on his belt! LOL!
Just poppin in for a bit...kids are in the bath.

Hi all, I managed to make it thru one more 'first week of the month'. I can breathe a bit easier tomorrow as no more meetings till end of next week. How great that is.

ok kaykay am popping in. been running around this morning being the gopher for dh, but enjoyed it. Now it's time to think about dinner.
How do you guys think dh will like a roast w/potatoes and carrots; purple hull peas, coleslaw, cornbread, fresh slices of thick juicy tomato and cantaloupe and either a peach cobbler or chocolate cake?
That is on the agenda for today, oh and making home made chicken salad as I am craving it lately.

well, our meeting ran so long last night, and I was tied up till we left, actually I was a bit late for the meeting, like one or two minutes, anyway, we went out and ate last night.
So I am cooking tonight, but ya know, my house is getting very warm, be glad when I can turn the stuff off!
once again, we are under heat advisiories. index is 99 at the moment...but a good breeze is blowing. i wish I could get into the pool!

Afternoon all! Baby T is in her room (not sleeping) so I thought I would pop on and say howdy!
Jazzedforhim, there is already a pump out called the Omnipod (you can google it) and it looks very similar to what minimed will be coming out with, only instead of the device that Omnipod uses it can be used with a blackberry phone! I think that is so cool. The omnipod also looks cool but I am so scared I would loose the controller...tee hee hee, at least I can call a blackberry! I am about to get a new pump from Animas. What kind of pump does your husband use again? I forgot, because I know you told me before!

Side note, our neighbors just lost his mom yesterday, can you please keep them in your prayers. Thanks all!

.I have 6 grandsons who think "wind " is very entertaining, not to mention hilarious..One time I asked them what the attraction is to something so gross to women..They said it is a form of male bonding"

Purple hull peas are commonly grown around here. They come in purple hulls, seriously! Usually they are long pods and when they are really ready to be picked, shelling is easy as they come out prettty easy, unless you pick 'em with too much green on the hulls.
They are really good, I guess you guys probably have a different version in Texas.
On a side note, I have an aunt who tries different things in jelly making, and she makes a purple hull jelly, she boils the hulls after they have been shelled and comes up with a purple water that she uses. SHe has even made watermelon jelly and crab apple jelly. All of it is very tasty too!
