If I remember correctly, I gave the answers as:

  1. The Water Canopy
  2. A race of half-angel/half-humans
  3. The earth being watered by ground mist
  4. A uniform tropical climate
  5. Extreme debauchery and evil everywhere
What wouldn't be present is the [rain]bow.
You might also find some YECs who would claim that all animals would still be herbivores as some interpret Genesis as indicating that Carnivorous behavior started after the flood while other claim it started after the Fall.

At least we should expect all humans to be vegetarians based on Genesis 1:29-30 and 9:3 since humans aren't given permission to eat meat until after the flood. I guess you could also claim that no animals would be afraid of men based on 9:2.

Now about Middle Earth.......

I'm in the After-the-Fall group.

Now if we base this challenge on what you really mean, which is what would be seen on the mythical earth described in Genesis if it had not experienced the mythical global flood described in Genesis the answers are different.

1. A firmament with waters above (not a vapor canopy)

2. No rainbows

3. Lots of evil giants running around (the result of mating between the sons of God and the daughters of men)

4. Far more underground water for the "fountains of the deep".

5. Trees of gopher wood (whatever it was it must be extinct now)

6. All species of animals that ever lived living in single area (Or they couldn't have been gathered by Noah)

How's that for starters?
According to a dutch comedian named Herman Finkers, the food would be better also.

Herman Finkers said:
Noah's Arc was found at excavations in Turkey. A cookbook was discovered within the arc. This cookbook belonging to Noah appeared to be full of recipes for the preparation of animals hitherto completely unknown to us.
This has lead archeologists to conclude that the animals currently eaten by people are actually tasteless.

Name 5 things that would be on Earth2 today, if Earth2 would have been a carbon-copy of Earth1, but didn't experience the Flood.

I can think of two.

Grendlers.

And Terrians.

I actually enjoyed that show when it came out.

Ya --- this is why you guys are so intellectually challenged when it comes to Basic Theology.

Give it awhile --- you'll be asking the same questions again.

Really? So why don't you tell us what Earth 2 would be like if Zeus did not overthrow the Titans. Or are we to believe that your creation myths are the only legitimate ones?

Really? Is that why you're so intellectually challenged when it comes to all-fields science - Biology, Archaeology and Geology would be most relevant though.

Really it's not an insult to any of us when you call us intellectually challenged in Theology, most of us in this subforum don't live our lives by it like you apparently do, maybe if you went to the other forum where they discuss Creationism and Evolution you might find someone that'd be insulted by it - but not here and not when you start up ridiculous challenges such as these every single month. Someone once said it's impossible to argue with an ignorant person(At least succesfully, you can attempt to, but you won't get anywhere), and I'm becoming more and more certain you're the evidence of that phrase.

You forgot: talking snakes, The Garden of Eden protected by a flaming sword, really old people, four-legged insects, satyrs, dragons, unicorns, pixies, minotaurs in mazes, elves making cookies in hollow trees, leprechauns hiding their gold in pots, and trolls living under bridges.

Ya --- well --- those were real --- except for the talking snakes, pixies, minotaurs, Elvis making cookies in hollow trees, leprechauns, and trolls - (okay, we do have trolls, but you can report them).

I have no idea what you're talking about here. Is this some of H.P. Lovecraft's junk?
It's not Lovecraft, it's Tolkien. It's The Lord of the Rings, and please don't call it junk unless you want to upset a few of us :)

If there's any creation myth I'd love to be true it's Tolkien's. Isn't it a beautiful idea that the world was created out of music?

I am so glad AV referred to Lovecraft "junk". I have a friend who's novel was published by Arkham House! I remember when we were growing up reading Lovecraft and then years later he got published by them!

We also grew up reading Tolkein. I loved JRRT. It was what got me hooked on reading.

But isn't it most wonderful that AV, unable to identify the authorship of a reference still was able to denigrate it as "Lovecraft junk"? That's what I call "informed commentary".

So if someone comes along and mistakes something as "Gospel junk" I bet AV will be ever so forebearant to describe the differences and correct them.

It's the Christian thing to do.

TALKING SNAKES NOT REAL?????

ohmygwarsh!

Gen 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

Gen 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life

That sounds like a snake to me. Maybe you'll have some hyperlegalistic interpretation that turns this description of a snake into something not a snake.

Please proceed. Explain it to us.

Or, perish the thought, is Genesis not literally true?

Duh! The serpent was a serpent, not a snake until G*D turned him into a snake in verse 14. From then on, he couldn't speak, because serpents can speak, but not snakes ('cause, y'know, that would be just crazy talk). Obvious.

(What frightens me is that that may be what some actually believe. Poe's Law FTW.)

Here's my explanation again --- for about the fifth time:

  1. This thing was not a serpent prior to God cursing it. It was a serpent-beast or, more appropriately, a dragon.
  2. It did not talk, per se. That is, it did not speak Eve's language. It simply spoke, and Eve heard it in her own language. In the NT, this was known as "the interpretation of tongues."
I will not be responding, unless I hear some new objection to this interpretation that I haven't heard the last four times I've explained this.

Ya --- this is why you guys are so intellectually challenged when it comes to Basic Theology.

Theology encompass more then just your tiny religion. Most theologians (that study more then Christianity) are Atheists or Christian lite because when you realize how many crazy ideas people make up to explain the things they don't understand, you just want to point and laugh ant Christianity it thinks its special when it is no different. Theologians know that Christianity nothing that other religions did not. Its really a cut and past job.
