Tomorrow is the big day! :) He's so excited. He's been crossing the days off on our kitchen calendar, and telling me every morning how many are left. :D Last Sunday during Communion, he crossed his arms over his chest (preparing to go forward), and told his dad, "This is the last time I will ever have to do it this way. I've been waiting a long time." He is such an angel. If you have a moment to say a little prayer for him, I would appreciate it so much.

And for Ethan...he is more than a bit upset that Riley will be receiving while he still can't. If I have ever seen someone hunger for the Eucharist...it is Ethan. He's been uncannily aware of the Blessed Sacrament from a VERY young age. And up to this point he and Riley have at least been together in their inability to receive. Now it will just be him, and he's already feeling the exclusion. Poor little guy.

Grace and peace be with you all!

Congratulations for Riley.

Praying for Ethan and Riley... I remember when my brother and sister who are older than me were allowed to do things that I wasn't... May God show Ethan extra grace through this.

I wish you could be , too---if for no other reason than so that you wouldn't have to be there.

A friend of Lucy is coming with us. She really wanted to get to go and see Lucy make her 1st Communion---this girl has never even stepped foot inside a church, but she's really excited. After Mass I'm gonna take Lucy and her friend out for lunch. If you can- will you whisper a prayer for this little girl--just that she feels welcome and included??? (Her mom---who is one of the best moms I've ever met...was abused as a child- physically and sexually "in the name of Christ"...and has a physical -panic attack-reaction to being in a church building....but her oldest daughter, Lucy's friend, is just very curious about church and stuff....so I feel very honored that though this girls mom ouldn't come with us because she had to go out of town--that she has entrusted us with her daughter in a church setting)
