Hello everybody. My name is Greg, and I am new to this forum.

I have a beautiful girlfriend who I love very much. She is a good Christian and loves God. She is 19, and when she was about 15 or 16, she started being harrased by what we think are demonic forces. Her bed would uncontrollably bounce up and down, stuff would mysteriously fall over, closet doors would open on they're own, she would have horrible nightmares, and the scariest thing, she would describe feeling something holding her down, and yelling at her in some other language. The challenges would come and go. Sometimes they would go away for a few months at a time. She is in a military family that has moved every two years so I dont beleive its just a haunted house, or something along those lines, becasue it seems to follow her. Stuff like this only happens when she is alone. If she is with someone else, nothing happens. She is afraid to sleep at night, and I am afraid of her becoming an insomniac. Not only is the situation very scary to say the least, but is also frusturating. We have talked to a pastor, but stuff still happens every now and then. Her mother wont even let her sleep in her own room becasue of it. What is the best way to approach something like this? We both constantly pray about it. Has anyone else ever experianced stuff such as this? What did you do to overcome it? Any help would be great. I would also greatly appreciate it if you guys could pray for us. Thank you.

My dear brother, Army people have a great habit of collecting items from their postings, particularly if visiting foreign lands, and they end up with demonic elements that to them appear to be harmless.

I have come across these happenings a lot with Christians who collect items that appear harmless.

Also, I have come across these happenings particularly those Christians who have dabbled with the Ouija board.

Now, your gf may love our Lord Jesus Christ, but still harassed and tormented by demonic forces, therefore, if this is then they must have "rights" to do so.

As you said that the family have moved to difference homes, then therefore, whatever is there is being carried with them in their belongings, such as ornaments, images, books, etc.

I assume that your gf is saved, but are her parents saved?

Be blessed in Jesus' Name.

this is a demonic issue, its nothing relating to brain activities....

i think demons still have some legal rights on her, as Elijah pointed out.

did she ever dabbled with witcraft, casting spells, charm, fetishes, voodoo and the like?

she should contact a local deliverance ministry and have the minister come over to her house and do spiritual battle, binding up those demons and cast them out in Jesus' Name.

dont just go to any ordinary church that does not do deliverance.

seek a church that do cast out demons, as the Bible teaches.

for churches that dont cast out demons, as far as the issue of demons is concerned, they believe that demons exist and thats about it. there is no real excercising of faith and authority over demons because they are unaware of the fact that Christians can have demons in them.

you'll probably find a deliverance ministry at pentecostal or charismatic churches.

This could very likely be a medical issue. How do you KNOW that it is demonic? How can you rule out medical problems?

>>>i think demons still have some legal rights on her, as Elijah pointed out.

As far as I know it's against CF rules to diagnose demonic possession on the forum and I would be cautious about who I sought out to obtain advice on the matter.

>>>did she ever dabbled with witcraft, casting spells, charm, fetishes, voodoo and the like?

Good question.

>>>she should contact a local deliverance ministry and have the minister come over to her house and do spiritual battle, binding up those demons and cast them out in Jesus' Name.

Denying medical evaluation is not prudent. Recommending a course of action without all avenues being explored is not healthy.

>>>dont just go to any ordinary church that does not do deliverance.

For those few that actually require deliverance from demons a church whose pastor is righteous and experienced in these matters is certainly wise.

>>>seek a church that do cast out demons, as the Bible teaches.

Same as last remark.

>>>for churches that dont cast out demons, as far as the issue of demons is concerned, they believe that demons exist and thats about it. there is no real excercising of faith and authority over demons because they are unaware of the fact that Christians can have demons in them.

Some churches don't see demons around every corner and realize that disturbed members of their congregations might have medical or other nondemonic spiritual needs.

>>>you'll probably find a deliverance ministry at pentecostal or charismatic churches.

Deliverance from the satanic or demonic is a specialized area and while meaning well, all are not adept in this.

I am sorry for her distress and pray for her wellbeing. Please seek medical attention about this matter. It could IMO be a spiritual problem but it could also be medical. God bless you and I'll be praying for you both.

Do these things only happen to her at night?

I ask because you might want to read up on hypnogogic and hypnopompic brain activities. I suffer from this.

I was diagnosed with these issues. Quite disturbing when you don't know where the voices are coming from. It's better now thankfully. God bless.

Thnaks for your replies and support everyone.

She did one time unwillingly mess with a Ouija board with her ex boyfriend about a year or so ago, but these things had been going on for about a year or two before that. She knew she made a major mistake in doing that, and has regreted it since she went to bed that night. The question was asked if the rest of the family is Christian, and yes they are a very strong Christian family. She has had medical attention, but everything was normal. And yes it only happens to her only at night when shes sleeping alone at her house. If she comes over to my house she can sleep alone in a different bedroom and is fine. I have to ask a question for my own sake. With me being with her open me up to such things? I would never break up with her if it did, I just want to prepared if it will. Thanks again for all the help and prayers guys.

Elijah is not qualified to diagnose demonic possession on the forum.

Because the symptons she experiences are similar to the symptons described in books written by ministers that deal with deliverances, demons, and spiritual warfare.

Demons can come with sickness and infirmity and cause the person to have physical or mental illness. we call it 'medical' issues because thats the term doctors know and uses.

Christians that are knowledgable in this area know that it is a demonic issue.

If she has dabbled with the ouiji board then thats where the legal hold is residing. she must come before the Lord, renounce it, and break the curse over her life.

Please take her to a deliverance ministry. No doctor will be able to assist in this.

I recommend getting some holy water and sprinkling it around the house, especially in her room. Ask God to bless each room as you sprinkle it. Also, I have heard that prayer chases away evil spirits so tell her to pray for at least a few minutes every night.

Hi, I work in mental health, and the more I work in this area, I've come to realise that the physical, mental and spiritual are alot more closely interlinked that we realise.

1. I would recommend that your girlfriend gets checked out by a Doctor, just to make sure the sleep disturbances arent being causes by a physical imbalance or that something is out of wack in the physical

2. Can your girlfriend go to a christian woman who is gifted in intercession and ask them to ask God on her behalf about what is the root of the problems that she is facing.

I really feel that God might be saying that her problems are caught up between the spiritual and the natural, and that there is overlap between the two. However I think it would be really great if your girlfriend was able to check that out with a someone in your real life situation as well as getting a physical check up just to rule out any physical causes

In my life and many others that I know simple, heartfelt prayer has resulted in miracles.

She did one time unwillingly mess with a Ouija board with her ex boyfriend about a year or so ago, but these things had been going on for about a year or two before that.
Well maybe there are other things prior to the Ouija board and her relationship with him.

Anyway, the most important thing to confess and repent dabbling with the powers of darkness through the Ouija board, and ask forgiveness from our Lord Jesus Christ, and break that "unholy tie" with the demonic from her active part with the board.
She knew she made a major mistake in doing that, and has regreted it since she went to bed that night.
Regretting doing it, doesn't break the bond that has been set in motion with the Ouija board, break that connection/bond and things might also improve.
The question was asked if the rest of the family is Christian, and yes they are a very strong Christian family.
Well with the bed moving and things falling off shelves and doors opening are well explained in many good books written by GOD-anointed ministers in the Healing Ministry, such Francis MacNutt, Derek Prince, etc., etc.
She has had medical attention, but everything was normal. And yes it only happens to her only at night when shes sleeping alone at her house.
As I have said many times that when experiencing these sorts of things that good, sound Christian counselling is needed by those who understand and have the sound knowledge of these spritual incidents.
If she comes over to my house she can sleep alone in a different bedroom and is fine. I have to ask a question for my own sake. With me being with her open me up to such things?
The supernatural isn't some simple fantasy. You pray and ask our Lord Jesus Christ to protect you and your gf. But, I would rather see the house cleansed and searched for possible things that are allowing the power of darkness to have a free run in the house.

Beds don't move, things don't fall off shelves, and doors dont open through a mental disorder.
I would never break up with her if it did, I just want to prepared if it will. Thanks again for all the help and prayers guys.
Well, please seek help from a member of the healing ministry.

Be blessed in Jesus' Name.

Concur with the advice to get checked by a medical doctor and consider asking for a referral to a sleep disorders clinic.

Encourage her to seek spport and prayer from the church she belongs to.

Please also bear in mind there are very few who have a medical doctor qualification AND have then trained at a seminary. If you do choose to go and see a self proclaimed 'deliverence' minister it is always wise to ask exactly what qualifications, what proffesional body they belong to/ were ordained by and if they have pastoral indemnity and be very wary of any who dismiss the need to have a medical check on 'symptoms' first.

The focus needs to be on setting her free. Medically or spiritually. Tracing back guilt sources will make her more oppressed, and feel less vigilant to get it to stop.

Most religions and cultures recognize the spirit world, and many besides Christianity recognize the human's authority over the spirit. These beings can do incredible things and exert amazing power over humans, but the odd thing that we never seem to grasp, is that we have been given authority when it comes to spirits.

It is not a question of whether we're good at it, or trained at it, or dramatic enough. The fact of the supernatural order of things, is that our Creator has given humans authority over things that are more powerful than ourselves.

Think of it like a CEO overseeing the work of a rocket scientist. The CEO knows business, not rocket science, but they still are in authority over people with amazing skills. Or the manager of a pro wrestler. Or a lion tamer.

When we don't exercise our authority, we wimp out and allow them to oppress us. Because they will. That's what they do -- get involved in places we think they have no right to be involved.

Sit down with your girlfriend sometime and help back her up. Speak out loud to the demons, whether you sense them there or not, and tell them to leave for good. Say it firmly and out loud. Bring scriptures to back you up, and read them out loud.

Someone here will have a good list of scriptures. If you don't see a good list pop up soon, I'll go dig for one online.

Jesus sent seventy disciples out into towns to cast out demons. They were not His closely trained handful -- they were people who believed in the power of God and the authority of the Son. You both have been bought with a price. You belong to Him, who created everything in the Universe and has authority over all. You are His child.
