I suggest you go here and click on "Issues"

http://www.barackobama.com/index.php

I've been reading it, thanks.

So far, it's "same old same old". But everything in the "issues" section of that site could have been copy & pasted from John Kerry's 2004 website. I don't need to hear, "The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer."

Anywhooo... I'll keep reading. Thanks.

Hold on. You said you accused his campaign of being shallow and having no idea what he stood for.

Someone links you to his official page which goes into detail about exactly what his policies are.

You then go back to saying the same thing about his campaign being shallow.

The fact is that the media today is more and more about sound bites and tidbits. Every political campaign is simplistic. Candidates try and find a catch phrase and a theme and stick to it. It's basic marketing.

If Obama went into policy detail on every question then people would accuse him of long winded and dull.

I wonder why someone wants to stick to capitalism despite the ever increasing gap between rich and poor it is causing.

Capitalism per se isn't the problem. Government getting way too cozy with corporations is the problem. Much of the Right in this country is very quick to condemn government intervention in the economy that benefits the poor, but turns a blind eye to Wall Street socialism for the rich.

I too do not want to hear the rich or getting rich the poor are getting poorer, seeing it does take money to make money. However what I don't what to see is the policy slanted in that direction where given the last 7 years they have been feeding at the trough in perpetuating the "same old same old".

If anything, the last thing we need is more of the, "same old same old".

Well - capitalism is usally all about freedom of trade. Which means you're granting the powerful more rights and means to walk all over the weak. I think Capitalism very quickly becomes the problem. Unless certain healthy restrictions are imposed on companies and corporations by the government.

Want to see bitterness? Bitterness to the point where it is physcially dangerous to walk the streets in an area? Go to where Barack Obama is likely to win in a landslide. Go to East St. Louis. To Baltimore. To New Orleans. To the area Obama represented in the statehouse: the South Side district which in home to both Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam and Jeremiah Wright's TUCC.

Yeah, but come on man! We ALL know that ALL of those problems are Whitey's fault!

Total ignorance, and backwards racial prejudice, aren't relegated to just one race are they!

Who are our leaders? They're a bunch of guys who are generally rich, white, and completely out of touch with the black community.

Ask yourself: is this racism, or is this just a fact? Is it so wrong then for a group to want a leader that understands them more than a leader who ignores them?

Not at all! And frankly, I think Obama is probably the first legitimate black Presidential candidate we've ever had. All previous runners were just statement makers who were using their candidacy to be heard. And I believe that, based on his previous employment, he probably understands black Americans more than any other previous Presidential candidate - including Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton.

That's why I find it rather odd when I hear blacks saying he isn't "black enough". That's no different than whites saying a candidate isn't "white enough."

I live in a black neighborhood, and love it. We have absolutely no problems at all. And I'd be happy to vote for Obama if I believed he was the best candidate - or the one who most closely aligned with my Presidential wish-list.

He most likely will not get my vote, but it has nothing to do with his race.
