Holy blessed sabbath was created for man on the seventh day

[God's days ,as kept eventually by Israel start at sunset in the Holy Land, not at midnight like Roman days],

thus we can have the unconditional blessing of weekly sabbath

[without being commanded to keep it as Israel was]

just for the small trouble of identifying when it is.

International timekeeping is a very recent invention and so has nothing to do with God's timekeeping....

God never created any datelines or timezones, so we know His timekeeping is absolute..

The SAME time for EVERYONE at the same time Worldwide [and even in space]

Sounds simple and indeed it is!

It does have the consequence though that half the world starts sabbath in darkness whilst the other half is in daylight, thats the consequence of us all having sabbath together at the same time!

So we just need to know what our local clocks will say when it is sunset at Jerusalem on what many call Friday and sabbath lasts until next sunset Jerusalem [note this is NOT 24 hours usually so we need TWO times]

These times are available from several sites on the web for instance [just do a search on sunset time Jerusalem]

Xmas trees , holly and mistletoe are evergreens into which the fertility spirit [fairies, lights, candles] is supposed to go for the winter!!

Presents are a Babylonian tradition spoken AGAINST in the bible ,

Kings from the East [toward Babylon] even tried to buy favour from Jesus!!

Shepherds sit out with their sheep at lambing time in the SPRING

.....in midwinter the sheep are shut away safe from the cold , not in the fields and you won't see any shepherds sitting around in fields in the winter in the Holy Land, it's TOO COLD!!

and they would have no reason to as the sheep are safe and warm.

.....Jesus was born in SPRING on this evidence , appropriately at lambing time and the start of God's year [years don't start in midwinter, [that is a pagan tradition too]

, but at springtime!

Birthdays too are to do with ASTROLOGY [more Babylonian pagan tradition], spoken against in the Bible,

Jesus NEVER HAD A BIRTHDAY!!!

God never instructed anyone to keep the false Babylonian tradition of birthdays,

certainly NOT Jesus' day of birth,

else [think about it] He would have let us know when it was !

It should shock you as it does me that the churches calling themselves christian are so fallen away from the truth into paganism.

It gets worse, Easter is a pagan festival in place of ,and at a different time from God's annual festival pointing to Jesus' death

[called Passover, that Jesus celbrated in the so-called last supper]

Easter is made a worse abomination by denying the sign of Jonah that Jesus promised

[that he would be three days and three nights in the ground]

count from 'good' Friday to Easter Sunday!

....that pagan celebration actually makes our saviour out to be a liar and a fraud,

how can christians be so deceived as to keep it in place of Passover??

[ the same goes for so-called Eucharist,

Passover is and was and will be an ANNUAL celebration,

not a weekly one,

the Bible says so, but not the fallen away churches of man.

Beloved people,
the response looks to me like blank denial
where is your loving helpful discussion of the points made?
We are supposed to prove everything!

1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Paganism is not good!

The saddest thing I see in the church today, especially among American Christians, is the unwillingness to give up all the pagan trappings that have gotten attached to our faith. I see people practice paganisms that have been given a "Christ-twist." Like carrying a golden angel pin as a good luck piece, or sending out chain emails with warnings on them that if you don't send this to ten people in the next 15 minutes God will not bless you over the next six months.

The so-called Christmas tree was an abomination to American churches 150 years ago. Chruches fired their pastors and shunned members who put these pagan symbols in their churches and homes. Now, it is not only accepted, not only embraced, it is demanded by American Christians, who sometimes threaten and cajole their siblings in Christ who refuse to have one in their homes.

We have such wonderful and illustrative symbols of our faith, I can't imagine why we don't dump these pagan things that have no meaning to us and embrace our own cross, our own Jesus fish, our own Lamb as symbols of our identity.

You are identified with what ever symbols you display. Do we want to display pagan things?

I just can't help but wonder if some of these folks come here from an alternative universe.

Where do they come up with this stuff???? Are they taught it in church? Oh, wait....they don't believe in churches. Maybe their pastors? But every man is his own pastor. It's certainly not from the Bible....unless, of course, they're putting their own decidedly odd interpretation on it.......

Ya got me. They don't want to be Christians, and they're not exactly Jews.....

....maybe it's an entirely new synthesis.

It's different, anyway. :D

Carry on.

Kings from the East [toward Babylon] even tried to buy favour from Jesus!!

So are you doubting the sincerity of worship that the wise men from the east displayed after Jesus' birth? (Matthew 2:1-11, in case you need to look it up ;) ).

Colossians 2:16-17 (and Romans 14) - we are free to observe any day, as long as it isn't a demand.

It is interesting that they are doing things wrong, whereas we have a proper handle on all of this. It is easy to point fingers.

Over the years I have found it much more effective to teach and ground people in the Word of God and let them come to their own conclusions about incidentals.

RE: Jesus' birth. Well that's an interesting question. Some claim he was born in the fall, others claim in the early spring. Looks like it doesn't matter. If the celebration/activity hides the incarnation (God taking on human flesh), then yes, they should be done away with. No one demands that "Christmas" be celebrated. I can take it or leave it. But the fact of the incarnation - that I will celebrate and frequently.

OH no! I hope you all don't call on the pagan Gods names such as Sunday, monday, tuesday, thrusday, friday.
Oh and I forgot...anyone who uses the the word Amen is also calling upon another god.
This is what I have been hearing for the past few months and frankly if this is true, what the anit-pagan people think...Well then I guess GOD has not convicted me of this so....What gives anyone else the right to convict me?

1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
