The very purpose of an Antibiotic is to treat or eliminate infections. So... your UTI would not be caused by Penicillin. It could be that your dosage wasn't enough to take care of the original infection and it migrated elsewhere.

I'm not sure about UTI's, but antibiotics commonly cause yeast infections. They disrupt the healthy bacteria balance in the body which can cause an overgrowth of candida albicans.
