Lust

i find the way i can combat that temptation is to
1.stay fed and strong. renew yourself daily.
2cdcor 4.16
you must daily keep a continual feeding process, just the same as eating breakfast supper and dinner.
2.dwell on the word of god.
its sharp as a 2 egded sword, its sharp enough to cut through those lustful thoughts.
it can dominate your thoughts to renew your mind to god. make the word your meditation all the day (josh 1.8 psalm 119)

3.to speak in tongues.
you reap what you sow. gal 6.7
i sow into my spirit man by speaking in tongues and unifying myself with the holyghost. as i sow into the spirit, i reap in the spirit, making him stronger than my flesh. and i strive to avoid anything that sows into my flesh!

4.we have power over serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy.
and i can bind the attack of the enemy here on earth and god will bind it in heavon for me. matt 16.19 18.18
i speak this into existence by SPEAKING THOSE THINGS THAT ARE NOT AS THOUGH THEY WERE.
it is not what enters a man that defiles him but what comes out.
when the devil enters my mind(which i cannot avoid) i have the choice to say "ohhh mama thats nice!" or i can say "devil i rebuke you! get out!" and i beleive that decison determines much.

but i think the most vital part of the fight is the preperation. to get ready before the attack, the be full of the word and be in union with the holyspirit so when the devil comes you can defeat him quicly. thats why i beleive daily seeking the lord is so important. maybe even seeking him 3 times a day like jesus peter paul and daneil did as they were jews (this isnt an obligation to us gentiles, but it sure would be effective)
becuase you cannot wait till the fight comes to get ready!

i beleive there are times when lust hits and its simply to late.
its night.

Get counseling from your pastor at your church. You need to be accountable to someone you know, someone who can pray for you and have spiritual covering over you, someone who knows you well. We cannot do this over the internet - you need someone who can talk to you in person.

i can attest to what SOS is sayin.

having a accountability partner raises up your standards and will make really think twice before doin something that you will regret later on.

Find someone you know very well that your lives are an open book to each other preferably someone in the same gender.

Really good advice have words with your pastor or elders dont seek advice outside your church body you may recieve answers that
will really hurt you.
your pastor is the one who knows you and who will help you we here at Christian forums will pray for you and pray that your pastor
would be guided by the holy spirit and that
words of wisdom be given unto him and you.
Dont allow anyone to give you advice other than your spiritual leader

You know we are supposed to share one anothers burdens and I think that means picking one another up when we fall. If we lean on God and each other we have a better chance of not falling at all. There are some good folks here and they know how to encourage.....what a great thing to be brothers and sisters in Christ.

We are told to practice selfcontrol.....so go practice.

Greetings! I am new hear and wanted to voice my views on this topic. I feel this is my biggest stuggle to deal with on a daily basis, due to the constant tempatation. In our society it is difficult for a man to resist looking at images geared to attract us; form TV, newspaper, computer, billboards, etc. I find it difficult to now look at these or even to look the other way when I see an attractive woman at the store, but I try to think of what Jesus said in Matthew 5:27. Sometimes, I have good days and other days I fail and struggle with guilt. I agree with the earlier statements, basically we need to constantly fill our thoughts with Jesus and Scripture and pray often.

Welcome Klesko! Christians need to unite even on the internet because we cannot let the Devil use it exclusively for the edification of his evil work. Christians need to rise up and take back the world, including the internet, for the glory of God.
