well I hear tell Orlando has gotten busy(bad).i passed through Ocala for the 1st time recently since i was a kid and didnt recognize much of it but other than that its Heaven up there compared to down here.theyve almost built up every square inch and most peeps here now are not from here so I have very lil in common...lol
I'm a Country boy at Heart living in the southern most burrough of NYC down here(tear mixes with barley and hops.....)

What does that mean?

I just got my property tax bill. Is it too late to start an armed revolution against Hillsborough county? My property taxes cost me more per month than the principle and interest on my home, and I am not joking. I am about to bust a blood vessel in my head.

Hon, go ahead with your revolution over the property taxes. That is why I refuse to own a home in this state, among others. I refuse to have to pay out the nose for such things.

I managed to purchase my house in '91, so the huge increase in taxes didn't hit me as hard as those who purchased homes within the past five years. It is horrendous, a huge burden on this state's residents, and is causing many -- and I mean MANY -- owners to foreclose.

I was approached on Saturday by a man seeking to locate my neighbor. He wanted to serve him foreclosure papers. And I had no idea Jose (my neighbor) was in such a desperate condition.

There have 5 forclosures in my neighborhood over the last 3 weeks. Its shocking.

grew up in fl. moved to GA about 9 yrs ago.

my sis and bil have tried to sell their house near tampa in order to move to ga... it has been on the market for almost a year with only 3 lookers.

it is a nightmare! those taxes... lets put it this way:
their house was like $80K. mine (in GA) was $165K. Their mortgage is $1200. per month (with taxes), mine is $990. (with taxes).

cant believe how hard it is for the typical person to live in florida these days.

And homeowner's insurance has gone up a tremendous amount too.

Hello, bot. I lived in Orlando back in the 80s, worked at Disney in the Magic Kingdom as a waitress. Great job! Great company to work for.

It's a bit hotter over there.

Hey there FL people, how do you like the blast of cold air we have? I was out for my walk this morning at 6:30. It was only 41, and windy, actually, a nice change.

I was still working, so no idea. lol Cold's good here, verses it being hot.
