Hi, Sunlover1 Few is a relative term, but from what I believe, and Jesus has shared with me, Christians today need to have a tremendous change of heart so not to have the door closed to them. Most Christian cant be distinguished from those living in the world. Please leave this thread in GT.
...And I've often posted this passage:
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you,
do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way,
that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Becauseb strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life,
and few there be that find it.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheeps clothing,
but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?
and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them,
I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock...
Jesus said that narrow is the path,
and that few find it.
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment:
but the righteous into life eternal.
Was Jesus talking about the same subject here?
He said FEW find it.
ANYhow, that's always nagging me
in the back of my mind, even though I know I love Him.
I know that I build my life around HIm,
I always had believed that once you're reborn into
His family, you can't get 'un' born.
That once you're adopted, that's it, no way out.
He's stuck with ya
So if you have any pertinent counsel for me and others
who muse over this, please share.

Yes..!! Consider He is NOT speaking of salvation but Son-ship, Heir-ship and Throne-ship; "joint-heir-ship" with Himself as the Head.
Know that redemption is to be more for God than our just being saved. Indeed, it is "all about Him".
Lol I didn`t manage it this time, i miscalculated how much time was left and the amount of people who were posting, so came back to the thread just as it closed .........................................but you can still curtsy to me .

That is shallow thinking. If you're a Christian, there's only ever been one gate....and you've passed through it.
And if there were some kind of "special path" you have to now be walking (which, to me, is just Jesus as my life), then it would be up to Jesus to guide you to it...not you.
You can trust and relax He'll always guide you in the right direction...even if you, from time to time, decide to distance yourself from Him...and it's 'cause He can't stop loving you.
Now I don't know about you, but that makes me feel quite special.....enough to wanna love and respect Him back.
"Christ's love compels us"? Wise words....that really say all you need to know.
Yeah...what do I know?
"relax"???If you're a Christian, there's only ever been one gate....and you've passed through it.

Sure- let Solomon address this:Does any more really need to be said?
That's what I know?
Wuh?
EDIT:
Ohhh....you thought I was aking "what do you know?"
Well in that sense, I guess the Pope knows more than the both of us, right?
I wasn't concluding that actually.....hence the wink. Why conclude that? Read this then draw your conclusion:
One thing you overlook spiritdriven, God never goes against man's will.
My Freind....your teachers overlooked teaching you to respect the words that first proceeded out of the mouth of God....
No one can come to Christ unless the Father who sent Him draws him (John 6:44)
Online Dictionary.
draw , drawn , draw·ing, draws
a. To cause to move after or toward one by applying continuous force; drag: drew the chair closer to the table; a team of horses drawing a wagon. See Synonyms at pull.
Never trust the teachings of men....when you respect the word of God...he becomes your teacher...and he will never lead you astray.
God goes against mans will in every possible way, nothing is done after the counsel or will of man.
God works all things after the counsel of His will (Ephesians 1:11).
Do not listen to the False teachers who teach in direct opposition to the word of God, their purpose is to lead you away from the path that leads to the narrow gate....
Being a Christian is work...striving to become more and more like Christ. Saying relax and just let Him guide you is contradictory to His giving us free will. No matter where we are on our paths, our free will is always there. We make decisions/choices every day that we pray about (I do, at least), to help us on our paths. No, I disagree with your use of "relax" because it reads as if you're saying we just sit back and let Him lead us through this life. That's not what a Christian's life is about. Like my priest has said. You have to have great courage and strength to be a Christian, as there are struggles, not all joys. He likes to call the life of a Christian joyful sadness. If you're a Christian, there's only ever been one gate....and you've passed through it.

I repeat and to be clear: God doesn't go against the will of man with regards to man serving Him or coming to Him for His salvation. However, He has often caused man to be willing to be willing. If you believe me wrong, find an instance; a account from scripture. You will see I am correct.
God works all things after the counsel of His will (Ephesians 1:11).
Whatever the Lord pleases, He does, in heaven and in earth, in seas and in all deep (Psalms135:6).
Whatever word the Lord speaks will be performed (Ezekiel 12:25).
That which is decreed by the Lord will be done (Daniel 11:36).
God has spoken, He has purposed, and He will not change His mind, nor will He turn from it (Jeremiah 4:28).
The word of God which goes forth from His mouth; It shall not return to Him empty, without accomplishing what He desires, and without succeeding in the matter for which He sent it (Isaiah 55:11).
The Lord has made everything for its own purpose, even the wicked for the day of evil (Proverbs 16:4).
All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, but He does according to His will in the Host of heaven and among the inhabitants of earth; and no one can ward off His hand or say to Him, "What hast Thou done" (Daniel 4:35).
The Lord of hosts has sworn saying, "Surely, just as I have intended so it has happened, and just as I have planned so it will stand (Isaiah 14:24).
The Lord has both purposed and performed what He spoke concerning the inhabitants (Jeremiah 51:12).
All live to Him (Luke 20:38).
No one can come to Christ unless the Father who sent Him draws (Greek: drags) him (John 6:44)
It does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy (Romans 9:16).
He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires (Romans 9:18).
God has shut up all men in disobedience that He may show mercy to all (Romans 11:32).
No one can resist His will (Romans 9:19).
The potter has a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honor, and another for dishonor (Romans 9:21).
No man should boast before God (1 Corinthians 1:29).
By His doing you are in Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 1:30).
The Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills (1 Corinthians 12:11).
The Lord will accomplish what concerns us (Psalms 138:8).
The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps (Proverbs 16:9).
The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord (Proverbs 16:33).
Many are the plans in a man's heart, but the counsel of the Lord will be established (Proverbs 19:21).
Man's steps are ordained by the Lord (Proverbs 20:24).
If you are still left unconvinced by God after this, what else is there for me to know or say except...Get thee behind me Satan.
