I've had sleeping problems for years, but it's gotten worse since summer started and much much worse in the past 3 or so months. I've tried every otc meds I can think of and they don't work. Nyquil is the only thing that will put me to sleep and I wake up after 2 hours. I simply don't sleep. After 3 or so days I sleep a couple of hours and then I'm good again for a few days.

It was ok this summer and fall because somehow I still had tons of energy in the daytime and was happy all the time, but now it's killing me and i'm tired all the time and frustrated.

I finally went to the doc last week and he put me on klonopin. The first night on it I slept 6 hours (best sleep in months). Since then I haven't been able to sleep more than an hour here and there, even though I doubled the dosage to make it the max he recommended. Going back to the doc tomorrow I guess. I'm so exhausted. I can't take it anymore...

I recently read that if a person has 3 bad nights of sleep it affects their immune system up to 60%. People who don't sleep well either can easily gain weight cause of it.
Try not to get so dependent on meds to help you sleep. There are some natural supplements that might help such as Melatonin or Magnesium.

Do you exercise any? If so, that can help but don't do it before bedtime.
Pray for God's help

Don't eat heavy meals after 5 p.m.
Don't consume alcohol
Pray some more :)
Some doctors will say don't go to sleep with the tv or radio on but that helps me. :)
Keep praying :) I've heard loads of people say they fall asleep either reading the Bible or praying. :D
Cut out caffeine in your diet.
Clear your mind of any problems before going to bed. Don't go to bed worrying about stuff.
Pray for God's help. :)

I too have had problems falling asleep for years. I don't know anything about medicine. But a few things that come to mind are trying to read a book before going to sleep. I've also heard of trying to have a wind down time before going to bed. Sometimes when you have too much on your mind its hard to sleep. If your not as active as you were months ago. That may contribute. I find when I'm tired and don't do much I have trouble sleeping. Maybe try doing something like a hobby. It helps me sleep better. Try something new to maybe break up your routine, too. Doing the same thing everyday can get you in a rut. That may bore you. Hope that helps.
