I had a major problem with my car this morning. I had some important doctors' appointments and when I got into my car, my battery was completely drained out.

I just sat there crying (had no money for a taxi) so I called around to neighbours and nobody wanted to help.

I am ALWAYS avaiable for my neighbours/friends whenever they need me. I eventually found someone who went out of his way to help.

I had to re-schedule everything. Just goes to show you...It says in the Bible that in the last days, the love of many will wax cold. :(

I'm sorry Sylvie. We live in a very individualistic society. :sigh:

The Québécois people are a rather peculiar people, though. When catastrophes like the 1998 icestorm happen (or other bad situations), they will go out of their way to help each other. However, outside of special events like that they are incredibly individualistic. Very strange.

Hey thanks for all your replies.

I'm having major car problems these days and whenever the temps. go down below zero (which is every night), I can't start it and I need a boost. There's usually never anyone around and it's really starting to get to me. The thing is that when there IS someone around who could help (would take 5 minutes --- I have the cables), it's like asking them to donate a kidney! Sheesh! And it's not like I ask all the time either. so far just twice and I've been lied to with excuses, etc...

I'm going to have to take it in to get checked. I'm aftaid of what they're going to tell me. Hopefully it's just the battery and not the alternator as some people may have hinted.

Sorry for the rant....:sigh:

Sorry to hear about your troubles MyHeart. Our neighbour two doors down not only shovelled all (the neighbourhood) sidewalks after the last nasty storm, but he even shovelled out the spot I had made in the windrow for my truck. He used a skidsteer to do it, but it was a very nice thing to do.

My wife has been using my truck all week because of the cold temps and her van sometimes the battery gets low.

:hug:That's awful! I have booster cables, I wish I was your neighbour :( I even helped out a total stranger at my university with his battery once, I can't imagine not helping a neighbour....
