Jasmine, I want you to do two things: first, read with me, Matt18:18-20: "Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in Heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in Heaven. One thing, Johanna Michelsen is NOT a very reliable authority on this issue. There are several inconsistencies in her story and she is very alarmist and overemotional (I read both her books, The Beautiful Side of Evil and Like Lambs to the Slaughter, btw, and in LLtoS, she merely spouts secondhand information and sometimes misinformation)

I will look up some resources on spiritual warfare and ask some people I know as to some better resources on this topic.

I will also issue a preemptive warning about Bob Larson. He is very sensationalistic and alarmist, he has generated much misinformation, and there is some evidence that his motives are largely financial.

I didn't know that. I read her book quite some time ago; I do know that she (in the book) endorsed "OSAS", while I on-the-other-hand believe in "Resonsible Grace".

What you and your pastor are saying does NOT line up with the Word of God! You are in effect saying that demons and "evil spirits" are stonger than Jesus! I deny that. So does God's Word. If these demons are stronger then why bother with Jesus at all?

Your pastor says that to be effective your evangelism must be "anointed" What does he think happens when you are saved? Especially since Jesus said the reason He saved you in the first place is for you to reproduce yourself. Your pastor is saying, and you are believing, that Jesus saved you to do a job but has withheld the tools to do it with untill a later time, when some other critria is met. Popycock and hogwash. This is a clear lack of understanding who Jesus is and what salvation is all about.

I suggest you start with John 3:16 and then go to Romans 10:9,10 and do what it says. Then go to the 15th chapter of St. John and find out what Jesus is saying to you as a born again Christian.

One other thing: we are forgiven of all our past sins and involvements when we come to Jesus believing that He died in our place for our sins.

To say anything else would be saying that the Blood of Jesus alone is not strong enough to overcome satanic activities in the past. . .and such a statement is nothing short of blasphemy.

Gerry, good advice and excellent Scripture references; however, there do seem to be different levels of power in the demonic world---not that ANY are more powerful than Jesus or are not washed away by His blood. But consider Mark 9:28-29: "And when He had come into the house, His disciples began to question Him privately, 'Why could we not cast it out?' And He said, 'This kind cannot come out except by prayer (and fasting---in many mss)' ".

In my spirit, and I say this with caution and great respect to Jasmine, I believe her faith needs to be strengthened. This is why I admonished her to "not claim the victory and then return to the battle again and again". We should claim victory, FOREVER! It is one thing to believe, even with all our hearts; it is quite another to know beyond all doubt.

This is what I desire for each of you, and for myself---that our faith in Him will be so complete, that it will be our entire reality. That we will not be "Sunday Christians"---but rather when we awaken we will think of Him, when we walk through the day it will be WITH Him, and when we lay down to sleep we will be comforted with His presence. As Kieth Green once said, "Why do we wait for DEATH to complete our relationship with our Lord? Oh when we die we will be with Him PHYSICALLY, but we can be with Him SPIRITUALLY just as much NOW, while we LIVE, as THEN!"

We can have no power at all in our lives untill we have a personal relationship with Jesus. And like Jesus I have no desire to see anyone defeated by any devil and to spend eternity in a place like hell. That is too horrible a fate to even think of for second.

My prayers are for and with Jasimine, and that her relationship with Christ be both real and joyful and powerful!

I remember hearing of an evangelist, I think it was Wigglesworth; he heard a noise in the night, and got up and turned the light on in his living-room. And LUCIFER HIMSELF was sitting in a chair! The evangelist frowned slightly, and said: "Oh. It's you." Turned off the light and went back to bed.

Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world, Jasmine! There is nothing to fear, even if you HEAR evil voices. Rest in Him, always and forever. His thoughts of you number greater than the grains of sand. You rest in His hand, in His love---and NOTHING can SIEZE YOU FROM HIS HAND!!! Jn10:28
