No, democrats have no Republican to fear except for Ron Paul. Let's be honest... America is not going to choose a pro-war-in-Iraq candidate.

America re-elected Bush 4 years ago.
It doesn't look like Paul has much of a chance, so why would they fear him?

McCain would be the most difficult to defeat, in my opinion. He is coincidentally my favorite of the Republican candidates. I think he has the broadest moderate appeal and is a generally likable and trusted man. And for some hard numbers to back up my subjective take, McCain is the only Republican candidate winning head-to-head polls against the Democratic candidates:

There's a poll that doesn't have Ron Paul in the lead? shocking!

I'm not sure he'd be the hardest for the dems to beat, but I do think they fear him, since McCain comes across as a bit of a war-mongerer.

McCain has the best poll numbers against Hillary, Obama, and Edwards. He is the only Republican to poll ahead of any single one of them. Democrats do fear his war mongering language, but no more than we fear Romney or Rudy. I'm pretty darn certain McCain has the best shot at beating the Democrats.

If Ron Paul doesn't win the GOP, the Democrats have nothing to fear at all. The next president will be against the Iraq war, I guarantee it.

that should be WHEN Ron Paul doesn't win the GOP... and quite frankly, McCain is the strongest GOP candidate, despite his war stance. Ron Paul is among the weakest, but isn't considered a real candidate, so Romney is the weakest among those who actually have a shot

You take any chance you have to bash Dr. Paul. Even to the extent of lying... you have done it once or twice before. And you are obviously a democratic for Obama, so maybe that proves that he is the only candidate worth fearing.

A lot of republicans dislike McCain because of his immigration weaknesses, tax-cutting problems, and his other liberal leanings.
With the current fear for the economy, recession, etc., I wish more people would consider Romney. This is where his experience shines. He's also the only one to have successfully implemented a health-care program (which should appeal to the dems), and he's very strongly against illegal immigration and raising taxes. Not to mention strong military and strong family values.
IMO, if he had Obama's strong vocal cords (Obama does have a great voice), he'd be a shoe-in.

probably about time to find a lie I told, or else retract your statement.

You said he was racist even though the evidence was clear. You were AT LEAST lying to yourself. Your mission is to say something bad about RP.

far from clear. and what I said is that he's EITHER racist, or simply too incompetent to be President. I think its equally likely that he's either. THe notion that the entire thing has been easily put to rest or there is ample evidence to simply discount the years of newsletters published under his name and ostensibly in his own words as ghostwritten stuff he was unaware of is truly dishonest. It may be the case that he didn't write or know about any of that stuff- but the evidence is far far far from clear.

No, I don't think we should be afraid of Romney. The only thing he really has going for him is that he's better looking than the other GOP candidates. He acts so goofy on the campaign trail that I don't think too many people would trust him as a serious candidate.

I think Hillary Clinton was right the other night when she said the GOP strategy would likely be to court votes by fear-mongering regarding national security. I think most voters would think McCain or Giuliani would have the most credibility on that issue, so I see them as more dangerous than Romney.

Thankfully, Giuliani is a poor campaign strategist, and McCain frequently suffers from foot-in-mouth disease, so there shouldn't be much to fear at all.
