I had a dream that I had applied for a new job. I did not expect to get the job, and wasn't concerned if i didn't get the job because I felt under qualified for the job. Although I needed the finances for my family badly. The job was offered to me after some considerable debate amongst the owners. At the moment I was hired there was a lot of chaos everywhere. No one seemed to know what room to go into for the scheduled meeting. Everyone was running about anxiously looking from room to room, and visiting rooms previously used for the held meetings. I am new and following the person that hired me. Finally someone calls out and says that they remember it was suppose to be in another building, and that we should go there immediately. Everyone exits out the door, and I am alone. I see the building we are to meet at and there is a long pond in between me and the other building. On the pond is a small vessel off the dock. I step out onto the water and start walking without hesitation. I am surprised i'm walking on water, but continue to do so anyway. I then notice small alligators on the shore to my left watching me. I thought to myself "They won't bother me, they are too small". I continue walking, but when i am about 10 paces from shore I notice a larger alligator watching me, and then dives into the water and swims over to me. The pond is Deep and the shore is steep and can only be exited by "standing" on the water.I look to the right and there is the mass of people frantically working their way around the pond to go to the specified building, everyone engaged in their own thoughts. When I am two paces from shore, I fall in and start screaming for help. I hear a voice say "Thy hath taken Thine eyes from the glory of the Lord", and at that moment the Alligator bit my ear and drug me under the water, and then I awoke

Alligator: Leviathan: Also Crocodile and Dinosaur: creature that cannot be tamed with the natural strength of man; demon; evil spirit; ancient demonic control; only the Lord has power over. (Job 41: 1-10; Ps. 74: 14; 104: 26)

Alligator (MSN Encarta): The American alligator lives mainly in freshwater swamps, lakes, and bayous in the southeastern United States, but it ranges as far west as the Río Grande in Texas. It is larger, reaching up to about 6 m (about 20 ft) in length, and is potentially dangerous to humans. Attacks occur infrequently, usually in areas where humans have recently encroached on alligator habitat or where alligators have become accustomed to the presence of humans.

Alligator: To see an alligator in your dream, symbolizes treachery, deceit, and hidden instincts… According to biblical interpretations, an alligator suggests that leviathan is king over the children of pride. (Psa 74:14, Job 41:1,Isa 27:1)

How long, O God, will the adversary revile,
And the enemy spurn Your name forever?
11Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand?
From within Your bosom, destroy them!
12Yet God is my king from of old,
Who works deeds of deliverance in the midst of the earth.
13You divided the sea by Your strength;
You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters.
14You crushed the heads of Leviathan;
You gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness (Psalm 74:10-14)

1"Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook?
Or press down his tongue with a cord?
2"Can you put a rope in his nose
Or pierce his jaw with a hook?
3"Will he make many supplications to you,
Or will he speak to you soft words?
4"Will he make a covenant with you?
Will you take him for a servant forever?
5"Will you play with him as with a bird,
Or will you bind him for your maidens?
6"Will the traders bargain over him?
Will they divide him among the merchants?
7"Can you fill his skin with harpoons,
Or his head with fishing spears?
8"Lay your hand on him;
Remember the battle; you will not do it again!
9"Behold, your expectation is false;
Will you be laid low even at the sight of him?
10"No one is so fierce that he dares to arouse him;
Who then is he that can stand before Me?
11"Who has given to Me that I should repay him?
Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine.
12"I will not keep silence concerning his limbs,
Or his mighty strength, or his orderly frame.
13"Who can strip off his outer armor?
Who can come within his double mail?
14"Who can open the doors of his face?
Around his teeth there is terror.
15"His strong scales are his pride,
Shut up as with a tight seal.
16"One is so near to another
That no air can come between them.
17"They are joined one to another;
They clasp each other and cannot be separated.
18"His sneezes flash forth light,
And his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
19"Out of his mouth go burning torches;
Sparks of fire leap forth.
20"Out of his nostrils smoke goes forth
As from a boiling pot and burning rushes.
21"His breath kindles coals,
And a flame goes forth from his mouth.
22"In his neck lodges strength,
And dismay leaps before him.
23"The folds of his flesh are joined together,
Firm on him and immovable.
24"His heart is as hard as a stone,
Even as hard as a lower millstone.
25"When he raises himself up, the mighty fear;
Because of the crashing they are bewildered.
26"The sword that reaches him cannot avail,
Nor the spear, the dart or the javelin.
27"He regards iron as straw,
Bronze as rotten wood.
28"The arrow cannot make him flee;
Slingstones are turned into stubble for him.
29"Clubs are regarded as stubble;
He laughs at the rattling of the javelin.
30"His underparts are like sharp potsherds;
He spreads out like a threshing sledge on the mire.
31"He makes the depths boil like a pot;
He makes the sea like a jar of ointment.
32"Behind him he makes a wake to shine;
One would think the deep to be gray-haired.
33"Nothing on earth is like him,
One made without fear.
34"He looks on everything that is high;
He is king over all the sons of pride” (Job 41)

In that day the LORD will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent,
With His fierce and great and mighty sword,
Even Leviathan the twisted serpent;
And He will kill the dragon who lives in the sea (Is. 27:1).

The New John Gill Exposition
of the Entire Bible

Psalms 74:14
Thou breakest the heads of leviathan in pieces…
A large fish, generally thought to be the whale, by some the crocodile, described in (Job 41:1) to which the king of Egypt or Babylon is compared, (Isaiah 27:1) and so the Romish antichrist in one of his characters is represented as a sea beast with many heads, which will all be broken in pieces in due time, (Revelation 13:1) , as here is one "leviathan" with heads in the plural number...

Isaiah 27:1
In that day the Lord with his sore and great and strong sword…
Meaning either the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, quick and powerful, and sharper than a twoedged sword, (Ephesians 6:17) (Hebrews 4:12) or else some sore judgment of God: some understand it of the Medes and Persians, by whom the Lord would destroy the Babylonish monarchy; or rather it is the great power of God, or his judiciary sentence, and the execution of it, the same with the twoedged sword, which proceeds out of the mouth of the Word of God, by which the antichristian kings and their armies will be slain, (Revelation 19:15,21) : shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent F9, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that [is] in the sea; by which are meant, not literally creatures so called, though the Talmud F11 interprets them of the whales, the leviathan male and female; but mystically earthly princes and potentates, for their great power and authority, their cruelty and voraciousness, their craft and cunning; so the Targum and Aben Ezra interpret them of the kings of the earth; and are to be understood either of distinct persons, or countries they rule over: some think three are pointed at, as the Egyptians, Assyrians, and Edomites, or Romans, so Jarchi; or the Greeks, Turks, and Indians, as Kimchi. The Targum is,

``he shall punish the king who is magnified as Pharaoh the first, and the king that is exalted as Sennacherib the second, and shall slay the king that is strong as the dragon (or whale) that is in the sea.''

Some are of opinion that only one person or kingdom is here meant, either the king of Egypt, compared to such a sea monster, because of the river Nile, that watered his country; see (Ezekiel 29:3) (32:2) others, the king of Babylon, which city was situated by the river Euphrates, and is described as dwelling on many waters, (Jeremiah 51:13) and others the king of Tyre, which was situated in the sea; it seems most likely that all tyrannical oppressors and cruel persecutors of the church are intended, who shall be destroyed; and particularly Rome Pagan, signified by a red dragon, (Revelation 12:3) and Rome Papal, by a beast the dragon gave his power to, which rose out of the sea, and by another out of the earth, which spoke like a dragon, (Revelation 13:1,2,11) both the eastern and western antichrists may be included; the eastern antichrist, the Turk, whose dominions are large, like the waters of the sea; and the western antichrist, the harlot of Rome, described as sitting on many waters, (Revelation 17:1) both which are comparable to serpents and dragons for their cruelty and poison; moreover, Satan, at the head of all these, called the dragon, the old serpent, and devil, must be taken into the account, who is the last enemy that will be destroyed; he will be taken and bound a thousand years, and then, being loosed, will be retaken, and cast into the lake of fire, where the beast and false prophet be, (Revelation 20:1,2,10) . Kimchi thinks this prophecy belongs to the times of Gog and Magog.

Bottom-line: It sounds like the Lord is warning you against false teachers, government leaders who are not following the Lord, i.e. the antichrist and that you have gotten your eyes off the Lord and on to man and the man is going to "bite" you.

Pray for discernment, read your Bible, pray and be informed about what people teach, believe, etc. and compare it against God's word so that you are not deceived by "wolves in sheep's clothing."

One additional thought: You said you were walking on the water ok for awhile and then when this large alligator entered the scene is when you went under the water. Q: Has there been a recent change in your life in anyone in a position of leadership in your life, like a church change or a change in political affliliation or job or something that might have brought this "large alligator" into your life?

A couple of scriptures come to mind:

Proverbs 29: [18] Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Malachi 3:[7] Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?[8] Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.[9] Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.[10] Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.[11] And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

Two major topics are presented here:

1) That there is an abandonment of God’s spiritual laws. Perhaps the church is not following God according to his Word and is involved in doing things God never instructed us to do. Because of this, the church is spiritually confused. Although it wants to serve the Lord, it is being led astray with a false gospel, carnal works, etc.

2) Most Christians do not pay their tithes and offerings, and because of this, members and their churches are cursed. The tithe is 10% of your income. I personally interpret this as 10% of my gross income. In the Bible, the tithe was 10% of the harvest. The offering (sacrifice) is anything over and above the 10%.

It seems in your dream that you have a lot of faith. But because something is amiss, you’re falling short of God’s vision and his blessings. The smaller demons don’t have the power to hurt you, but the bigger ones will always find a weakness in your armor to exploit. Your finances is a common battleground.

The others in your dream don’t share the same faith as yours, so they run around the water and are so focused on what they want to do that they don’t bother trying to listen to God and follow him through faith.

I can tell you from personal experience that my faith and blessing have increased since I’ve been paying my tithes and offerings. I have faith because there is no curse to withhold God’s blessings from me. When I pray, I know God hears me. I have more power in my prayer, whether it be for healing others or casting out devils. I can also hear his voice better. He also takes care of my financial needs. I have more faith now because God’s Word says he will bless me.

Wow!! Zambi...look! We are friends and been talking about this offline for a couple of days. This is aaaawwwfully close to how he and I both interpreted it. I think he will agree when he gets back. Thanks Bobinator!

Bobinator,
Thank you for your post, this is certainly the conformation that I needed. I have been out of a steady church for quite some time and haven't been paying my tithes/offering. There are times when I feel convicted and I come up with some excuse. I have no doubt that your interpretation is correct, and I thank you deeply for you discernment and honesty. It's time that I right the ship, and give God what is rightfully his. Thank you for aiding in opening my eyes.

... but when i am about 10 paces from shore I notice a larger alligator watching me, and then dives into the water and swims over to me. Please help me out here. I am not doubting Bobinator's interpretation, and I know the dream is for you, so obviously you don't have to answer this, but I'm just not following this progression of events.

You were walking on water just fine until you got a couple of paces from your destination when you fall in and scream for help (like the story of Peter walking on the water who fell in because he took his eyes off of Jesus and looked at the waves). According to you and Bobinator, your fall is that you have not been going to church and you have not been paying your tithes, so your faith is hindered and you fall in the water.

Ok, so where does the alligator fit in and what is the "bite" on the "ear" and how did he "drag" you under the water? Do you see where I am going with this? I'm concerned that there is more to what God is saying here that you are missing. I mean, you can tell me to take a hike and so forth, but this has been bothering me. I'm still seeing the alligator as an antichrist; false teacher who has entered your life and because your faith is weak (perhaps because you have not been in church and tithing), he has bit you on the ear, meaning he is has somehow influenced your ability to hear the Lord or has introduced false teaching to your ears which you have accepted. And, that has drug you under spiritually in your pure walk (on the water) with the Lord.

Please pray about this and see if the Lord may be showing you something more than just your church attendance and tithing but that you have been "bitten" by some false teaching that is hindering your spiritual walk.

Bite: to hold something tightly, tear something off, or cut through something using the teeth; tear the skin of a person or animal using fangs, teeth, mouthparts, or a stinger; wound; attack. Ear: the organ of hearing; the ability to distinguish accurately between different sounds; somebody’s attention.

“He who hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Romans 11:8
as it is written: "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes so that they could not see and ears so that they could not hear, to this very day."
Romans 11:7-9 (in Context) Romans 11 (Whole Chapter)

2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
2 Timothy 4:2-4 (in Context) 2 Timothy 4 (Whole Chapter)

2 Timothy 4:4
They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
2 Timothy 4:3-5 (in Context) 2 Timothy 4 (Whole Chapter)

Hi, all. Allow me to explain my interpretation. The dream begins with Zambi being concerned about finances. This is the first key. One of the biggest challenges most of us face everyday is our finances and being able to take care of our everyday needs and our families. However, God is our true provider, and Zambi finds herself in a building which often represents a church or ministry.

The church leadership wants to serve God, but is confused and doesn’t know where to go. They apparently do not hear the Holy Spirit and lack the vision necessary to accomplish their goals. They run to and fro trying to find their way. They decide to go to another building (ministry) thinking that’s where God is at, but is separated by a large pond of water.

In the Bible, water commonly represents either of three things: 1) the Holy Spirit, 2) people, or 3) the world.

Zambi has faith and finds herself walking on water to get to the other side. For the most part, her faith carries her and helps her to overcome the world. The world is filled with evil and demonic powers. Because she has faith and a measure of spiritual growth she walks on water and knows instinctively that minor demonic forces have no power over her. However her faith is not complete, and like Peter, she sinks in the end. Stronger spirits (demonic strongmen) pose a greater threat because they are more powerful and can see a person’s weaknesses. After all, our personal demons know everything about us. The large alligator (strongman) saw her vulnerability and knew Zambi was going to sink eventually.

The others frantically ran around the pond indicating their lack of faith, and were focused on their own thoughts, showing a lack of unity and striving in the flesh.

For some reason, the scriptures in Proverbs about lacking a vision came to mind. Malachi 3 also came into mind regarding tithes and offerings. When you read Malachi 3, verse 7 says, “Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?” Verse 8 then goes onto explain how the people were robbing God of their tithes and offerings. And because of this, they were disassociated from God. God was not with them. Remember, faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. If you do not hear from God, it is impossible for you to have faith. The people (church) have no vision and are striving in the flesh because they do not hear God and therefore have no faith. This is related to the alligator biting Zambi’s ear.

Further, verse 11 says, “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.”

God would have rebuked the devourer (alligator), but Zambi fell short.

Like CFS said, there may be more to this dream, but this is what I got.

ChristsfreeServent, I am not discrediting your interpretation of my dream. I have often wondered if it had Duel meanings. I too believe that we are Extremely close to the end times and the dream can be made to be discerned that way. I understand your concern for my wellbeing, and I appreciate that. I have a small study group that I have been attending for around 2 months now and have drawn closer to the Lord with this group than I have in 30 years of attending "Church". I have not attended a specific church for almost 10 years now. My wife and I are of different denominations, and there has been a power struggle as to "Who's" church we are going to attend. Typically she wins out, but there has been little friction there because we both believe in the same common denominator , which is the Lord our God. In Gods' church there is no denomination. Bobinator, not knowing me, interpreted the dream as my friend and I had. This gave me the conformation that I needed. It's not that there is a lack of Faith, but there was something I was missing. Gods' commandment to tithe. The "alligator" told me I did not need to give God with Tithe because I didn't attend church on a regular basis, or that I didn't have the money to support my family, or that we attended multiple churches and which church where we to give Tithe?.
See, when I first awoke, I thought just as you did. I thought that the dream represented the end times. I have spent countless hours for about 1 month now (3-6hrs a day) studying this topic. I am really intrigued by this subject, and in a way feel called to do that very thing. To study and prepare myself, so that when the time comes I can prepare my Family and all else who may listen. I have given it some thought, and perhaps the Lord has given my dream Dual meaning. That the building in my dream was the "New Jerusalem" and the "Church" was finding it difficult to get there. I chose the difficult path, and I am Near the End of the Journey. It was also a warning that If I didn't change my ways I would fall short of Gods' Glory. I was stealing from Gods' warehouse and he was not pleased. I specifically asked for a dream, because he has used other methods to talk with me and I had never experienced a inspired dream before. He gave me one, and humbled me saying that I was to change my ways for the time is near and his return is imminent. That said, I believe Gods dream to me was personal and directed towards me. It was a gift he gave me, and a warning as well. It may have future implications, but I do not see this as His message at this time. He wanted me to correct my actions now, before my journey is complete.

Zambi,

Thank you! That makes sense. I was just not getting the connection between the alligator and the tithe and church attendance. You and Bobinator both helped me to understand. I appreciate your patience with me and your willingness to help resolve my confusion.

I also agree that dreams can be multidimensional, meaning that they can have more than one possible meaning. Most of my dreams have both personal and broad application.

I do see what you said about how your decisions concerning tithing can affect your relationship with the Lord when it comes time of the end and that perhaps the Lord was giving you a dual message. Perhaps that is why the Lord had both Bobinator and I respond because the Lord wanted you to see both interpretations and that they were not in conflict with each other but that one actually went with the other.

I don't respond to all dreams - only ones that I sense the Lord is leading me to. So, thank you for listening.

God bless!

Sue
