I have their prayerbook. And I remember from their website that they have recently given up requiring the special clothing they traditionally wear, so that they are more open to outsiders/converts. It also mentioned that they all cross/bow/prostrate *together* - kind of regimented. Did you notice that?

If I recall Fr. Pimen was showing us a service book from the early 1600s to show us how the books used to give instructions on exactly where to cross yourself and prostrate.

And Mary, yes you are correct, they don't require the Russian Shirts anymore because of converts (They only require it for male Choir members). They actually have a large number of converts there, I think somewhere around 40%

Perhaps you can tell us what you learned from this book that Fr. Pimen was showing you? hehe. My Co-believer friend (Reader Vitali on OC.net) constantly teaches me when to prostrate and cross myself. I've learned a lot through him and through Co-believer books/sites.

No Russian shirts? I didn't expect them to have them really, I've heard they have converts who are not Russians. Oh well, mabe I'll wear a Kaftan for fun. :p
