ITA Neil! DH and I can't wait either! :) Dh's Great Aunt Janie knows a lot about Mel, and she just loves him to bits - thinks he's awesome for having so many kids, being true to the faith, and being married so long. Of course, it doesn't matter to her that he's a "hot young stud" (her words, not mine). ;) ;)

/me peeks out of the carton igloo and hands Nihil a frozen hashbrown patty

Here. I chew on these to cope. The flames from my mouth toast them so by the time they hit my stomach, they are cooked to perfection.

The beer keg in the corner is KC's. I can get you one, if you like, and just put a straw in it.

Peace,
~VOW

I think the Catholic mods are doing a great job. I'm amazed at the amount of patience you show towards some of the hatemongers posting there.
Am I allowed to call them hatemongers?
Okay, I'll change it to "spiteful and confused people with too much time on their hands."

Settle down, VOW. Unca Wols has locked the thread and sent the main offender a warning.

Remember Our Lord's words: "If the world hates you, it hated Me beforehand." :)

I'll be off now for a while---the Wee One is napping, and I have some Rosary-ing to catch up on. ;)

Peace and prayers,
---Wols.

As long as you don't add me to your list.  :)

And if you have to...at least tell me why so I can fix whatever I say to make you want to add my name to the list.  :)

/me walks into the pub

Hello all - it has been quite some time since I posted. I have been very busy with work and family.

I wanted to take a moment to thank KC and isshinwhat for honoring my request for anonymity. If you did not figure it out, well here it goes --

/me was formally known as Polycarp

I also wanted to let you know that Avila and I are officially back home in the Roman Catholic Church. We have been for some time now, but I felt it was necessary to distance myself from the mess that Polycarp and Fr. Rob had made.

I informed KC of my intentions, and asked for his advice in the matter - and I want to thank him for being understanding.

isshinwhat figured it out on his own and asked me in a private message. I let him in on my intentions, and asked for his prayers of support.

I have some sad news concerning Fr. Rob. When I revealed my intentions to the Bishop of the PEC and the subsequently to Fr. Rob the relationship went sour very quickly.

Fr. Rob is now separated from the PEC. I ask you to pray for him during this time. The details of his separation will be available on the PEC website once it is back up - there is a story behind that as well - and it will be posted at when the site is back up also.

As for our return to Rome, I will post on that some time in the next month, when I get time. I have been going to spiritual direction, and Avila started direction last week. We have been back in the Church and going to Mass now for about 6+ weeks. It has felt great, and the first time back to the sacrament of reconciliation was very cleansing. People at our home parish simply thought we were out of town or something - so we have been able to pick up where we left off - but this time with much more vigor. We have shared with some of our closest friends the details of the summer away from the Church, and they have been very helpfull in confiming why we decided not to leave for good.

Well enough for now - I need to get back to my family.

Bondservant of Christ Jesus,
Chris

I'll second that Welcome Home. :) You and Amy have been in my prayers. Not so much that you would come back to the Church, but that you might both find the Peace of our Lord wherever you chose to follow Him. Having doubts and questions can be very hard on faith (and relationships), but often it only serves to make us stronger.

Come on over to the Pub. I think I remember the kind of sundae you like. ;) :)

(And don't worry Amy. I'll make sure he wears a bib. :) )
