At the top of this forum we have a news section. I pulled this quote from there. Please understand that "dark" is used to mean invisible.

"The Chandra X-ray Observatory has strengthened the evidence for the idea that our universe is made mostly of strange, unseen material that has yet to reveal its true form. Many astronomers have used this "dark matter" excuse to explain how galaxies hold themselves together — because according to our generally accepted understanding of gravity, there isn't enough known mass in galaxies to prevent them from coming apart. Chandra's observations of the shape and orientation of an x-ray-emitting cloud of hot gas around NGC 720 suggests something in addition to the galaxy's observable matter is helping to keep its contents in place."

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

Science looks for natural explanations of the supernatural. Without God science can not fully find the truth that it seeks. I wonder what they will theorize about this invisible matter and force.

The more I try to study and understand the Universe, our Earth and life within the natural boundaries set by science... the more improbable it becomes.

I agree with our Bible. Man is without an excuse for not knowing of God.

Once you introduce the supernatural into science, it ceases to be science. There is a good natural explanation for why galaxies hold themselves together.

I have to agree with ocean on this. When the supernatural is brought into science it is no longer science since you can't test the supernatural.

Dark Matter is Matter that is left over from the big bang it is just invisible to light.

If God created everything, then God is natural, not supernatural.
This does not follow. If I make something in the category "vehicle" does that make me in the category "vehicle"?

There is a difference between "procreation" and "creation". If I procreate then that which proceeds is of my nature. If I create, however, that which I create is necessarily not me.

I agree with the assertion that "just because we can not detect something does not make it supernatural." But to jump from there to "God is natural" is a similar this leap in logic: "All Dogs have 4 legs. That cat has 4 legs. Therefore, that cat is a dog."

If God created everything, then God is natural, not supernatural.

God is a Spirit. He is all powerful and all knowing.
I do not think we could ever classify him as other than supernatural.

I am not saying that Science should change and introduce an element that is impossible to fully know. But it would be nice if Science admitted that most if not all their theories contained gaps and questions not fully explained. We take for granted that we understand the workings of this world but the truth is... any knowledge that we have gained is still in its infancy.

Science needs to confess that it is not all-knowing. So many people are being led astray.

"Science without religion is lame."

Lame : lacking needful or desirable substance : WEAK, INEFFECTUAL

Professor Eeinstein: I agree :)

Science is not a religion. It knows it is not omniscient. Unlike others who claim their god to be whatever they imagined their god to be.

How about this:
Religion: We do know nothing about God.
Science: Join the club, we just know what we think we know and are searching for more.

Well, I said If God created everything, then God is natural, not supernatural.
If God created everything, and God existed prior to the created thing, then God is the original natural source. That would mean that the Spirit of God is a natural thing. Natural to God.
And God creates by procreating, what do you think the Son is all about?
The Son is the offspring of God, in the image of God, with the same nature as God. So the Son is also a natural thing. Everything is contained within God, so everything we see in nature is a natural part of God.
We just can not detect all of it from where we are in that creation, but God can show it all if He so chooses. But even in the showing, we can not percieve it directly because much of it is outside of our part of the natural world of God, just being in the natural world we are occupying at this time.

For science knowing it's not omniscient, it sure acts like it...

Does this sound familiar?

"If I can't see it [observe it, in other words], I won't believe it."

Technically, the scientific method includes observing (which is why I don't think the study of origins... hm, originology? ;)... is a science; neither creation nor evolution).

I know the Bible is not a science book. But many times I have first read what Science discovers within its pages. This is God speaking to Job. The whole chapter is quite interesting. But I will respect the desire of the Atheist not to post more than necessary from the Bible.

Job 38:9 When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and THICK DARKNESS a swaddlingband for it,

The definition for swaddlingband is to entwine or swaddle or hold together.....the darkmatter is holding the universe together and God knew it because he created it.

Go Stormy, you're on a roll.
There are so many like that in the Bible.
And usually it is those things that are taken to mean that reading the Bible can not lead to understanding, because those little verses make no sense until science catches up.
Then it's, hmmm, the Bible had it right after all.

Duane: Just the other day I was reading that the scientist say that early earth was covered by water. But then we knew that right?

Genesis 1 :2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so.

But back to the "matter" in discussion.

Do not think that this is some small matter. :D

It makes up 90% of the Universe.

Yup, so many things eventually line up with the Bibles account of beginnings. Water, water, everywhere...
H2O, the stuff of Life.
I have been trying, in vain, to explain this.
Science will catch up eventually. They do try.
And Truth is Truth, you can not change it by wishing it away.
