Time, for many has been so long I’ve heard my children’s cry Prepare to sing your wedding song Your Groom is drawing nigh
He’s coming soon, at last you’ll meet Upon the Wind you’ll ride My joy will soon be made complete When Christ is by your side
Look up sweet bride, I’ve heard your prayer Receive your robes of Light Your Bridegroom’s cloud is almost there He’ll soon be in your sight
In faith, you’ve answered Jesus’ call I know you love my Son In righteousness He’ll greet you all And then you’ll both be one
Prayers are diamonds your lips have said Rubies are songs you sing Your praise great sapphires for your head Your love’s a wedding ring
Your tears of pearl will never fade Though hurt, you grew so fair From all your jewels my Son has made A crown for you to wear
I’ve longed to have you dwell with me I’ve loved you from the start So come my child come now and see The treasures of my heart
For you my sweet and faithful few My doors are open wide With life eternal promised you There’s endless love inside… Michael P. Johnson
As we remove the wrapping from our Christmas gifts this year, let's remember that Christ was also wrapped. He was God wrapped in human flesh in order to walk among us and to reveal the Father to us. We wrap gifts to create anticipation and excitement. We want to see our loved ones faces when they open the package because we already know what they need or want is inside. And so it is with our heavenly Father. He wants us to see the living God in human flesh, a gift that will bring unspeakable joy.
Jesus Christ is the only gift you can give away and still never lose. Once you give away money, clothes and jewelry, they're gone. But the truth is...the more Christ you give away, the more of Him you can experience and enjoy. Jesus is the eternal gift of God. You can't lose Him, and no one can take Him away. He's the only thing you have that is absolutely, eternally yours.
My prayer is that, as you celebrate this Christmas season, you will remember Jesus as the greatest, most precious gift you have ever been given. Celebrate Him, and give Him away as much as you can. If you do, you'll experience a most joyful and meaningful Christmas.
AN OUTWARD SIGN What foolishness, we’ve come to share The devil, laughs in scorn Even the Christian name we bear Is oft unjustly worn
The Christian faith is not a trend No whim, nor passing quirk It’s God, to have as Lord and friend It’s Jesus Christ at work
If mind and soul’s not seen a change If Fire; is not inside If Christ God’s Word remains us strange Hell’s mouth's still open wide
Pretence; is not a Christian song Deceit’s not Jesus’ tune Charade is never less than wrong The devil’s mask to ruin
If man’s to flee, the coming wrath Have peace and endless days We need to walk Salvation’s path Changing our selfish ways
Instead, we live as human drones We do as others do We’re whitewashed tomes to dead man’s bones If Christ’s not made us new
There’s class distinction still at large Racism; wields it’s sword Satan within is yet in charge If Christ’s not truly Lord
The Truth’s not hard to understand To sin, all flesh must die God’s ruling comes with upheld hand And God can never lie Michael P. Johnson
