My point was threads that show a God who causes sickness skyrocket to hundreds of posts while a thread that shows a God who heals receives only a few posts.
.

Yes, Pete. It is sad.

I have posted great testimony threads about God's blessings, healings, provision..... and only 2 or 3 reply.

But if it is a post about how God does NOT do these things... man oh man.... it's up to 550 posts.

And THIS is the pentecostal/charismatic forum??? :( :sigh:

This is an awesome thread. Just last week, for my own edification, I researched the gospels for every instance Jesus healed and printed out 8 and a half pages, and not one instance where he refused, even the syrophoenician woman's daughter was healed when the woman persisted.

Thanks charity.

I bookmarked this thread for quick reference. It comes in handy!

There is overwhelming evidence that healing was an integral part of Jesus's ministry on earth. His ministry was set up as a model for the ministry that was to follow. The Apostles in the book of Acts followed the model and healing followed their ministries as well.

Physical signs and wonders are there to show the world that Jesus has the power to back up His words. There is no other entity in the world that can achieve this. Every other religion has their gods and their words of doctrine, but they do not have the manifest power of the Holy Spirit accompanying their doctrines.

If a person tries to preach the gospel without healing and other signs and wonders, there is nothing to convince the hearers that the words of the gospel have any weight or authority enough to make them want to change their direction and accept Christ as saviour. This is why there has been so much unfruitful preaching of gospel right throughout the western church. This is because people are not convinced by words only. Jesus knew this, and when He healed someone, it drew a great crowd who said that a great prophet had visited them. Was it His words that made them say that? No, it was the signs and wonders that He did.

Healing shows that the Word of God has the power to back up the words. Everytime there was a healing in the book of Acts, the account tells us that there were thousands of people who came to Christ as a result. Would they have come to Christ if there were no healings. I would tend to believe that not even a fraction of that number would have come to Christ if there was no healing ministry.

What is stopping the healing ministry from flowing today? Well, it is not Jesus or the Holy Spirit, because the evidence shows us that Jesus did not hesitate to heal people.

The problem is in us. There are three major hindrances to the healing ministry today:

1. Doubt that Jesus will heal us.
2. Unbelief - that Jesus does not heal today.
3. Hardness of heart and a lack of compassion on the part of church leaders and members; and selfish motives in those who say they have a healing ministry - eg self gain and self praise.

These three problems exist right throughout the traditional church, and in most areas of the Pentecostal church.

The real tragedy is that most of these people have no insight of their own problem. They blame everyone else but themselves. They are blinded to their own state.

It was the same type of blindness that caused the religious leaders of Jesus' time to put Him on the cross. They had no insight into who He actually was.

This is the same today. Every healing ministry I know has come under intense pressure and persecution from church leaders, and Pentecostal leaders are at the forefront of it. These are our modern day pharisees who have little insight into how Jesus wants to move today, or how the Holy Spirit wants to support the preaching of the gospel.

One of the major problems is that Pentecostal denomination leaders trash any healing ministry that is not part of their own faction. This is a type of denominational pride that is crippling the church spiritually.

When you have insight into the ungodly state and attitude of many of our Pentecostal and Charismatic leaders who are consumed with their own self importance and pride, it is no wonder that there are very few healings in comparison to what they would have expected in the book of Acts.

Bumping this thread after another frustrating day of posting.

My prayer is that this will help more people. I think I'll occasionally bump it to help remind us who Jesus is.

Don't worry probinson, you are doing a great job. I'm sure there are those who've read your posts and have been blessed.

You never know who is reading and whom you have touched. Better still, the eternal consequences of your good works.

Sometimes, I think it is not about knowing scriptural evidence, but knowing God's heart.

Sometimes, people need to see His heart first before they can understand His Words.

It was pointed out to me in another thread that there was "plenty" of evidence that God causes illness and may not always heal people. This "plenty" of evidence equated to 4 (questionable) instances in the New Testament.

It has also been pointed out that I may be "ignoring the clear teaching of the WORD". So, I decided to read throgh the gospels to see if I could come up with "plenty" of evidence that Jesus is the healer and that He indeed is moved by faith. Below is the result:

_________________________________

Matthew 4:23-24
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. 24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the
paralyzed, and he healed them.

Matthew 8:5-7
5 When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. 6"Lord," he said, "my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering." 7 Jesus said to him, "I will go and heal him."

Matthew 8:13
13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go! It will be done just as you believed it would." And his servant was healed at that very hour.

Matthew 8:14-15
14 When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. 15 He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him.

Matthew 8:16-17
16 When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases."

Matthew 9:6-8
6 But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...." Then he said to the paralytic, "Get up, take your mat and go home." 7 And the man got up and went home. 8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to men.

Matthew 9:22
22 Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that moment.

Matthew 9:25
25 After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up.

Matthew 9:28-30
28 When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" "Yes, Lord," they replied. 29 Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith will it be done to you"; 30 and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, "See that no one knows about this."

Matthew 9:33
33 And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel."

Matthew 10:1
1 He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.

Matthew 12:13
13 Then he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other.

Matthew 12:22
22 Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see.

Matthew 13:58
58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.

Matthew 17:16-21
16 I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him." 17 "O unbelieving and perverse generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me." 18 Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" 20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Matthew 20:32-34
32 Jesus stopped and called them. "What do you want me to do for you?" he asked. 33 "Lord," they answered, "we want our sight." 34 Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.

Mark 1:25
25 "Be quiet!" said Jesus sternly. "Come out of him!" 26 The evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek.

Mark 1:40-42
40 A man with leprosy[f] came to him and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean." 41 Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" 42 Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured.

Mark 2:10-12
10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . . ." He said to the
paralytic, 11 "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home." 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"

Mark 3:5
5 He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.

Mark 5:8
8 For Jesus had said to him, "Come out of this man, you evil spirit!"

Mark 5:34
34 He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering."

Mark 5:35-36
35 While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. "Your daughter is dead," they said. "Why bother the teacher any more?" 36 Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, "Don't be afraid; just believe."

Mark 5:41-42
41 He took her by the hand and said to her, "Talitha koum!" (which means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!" ). 42 Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.

Mark 6:5-6
5 He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6 And he was amazed at their lack of faith.

Mark 7:29-30
29 Then he told her, "For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter." 30 She went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon gone.

Mark 7:33-35
33 After he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man's ears. Then he spit and touched the man's tongue. 34 He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, "Ephphatha!" (which means, "Be opened!" ). 35 At this, the man's ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.

Mark 8:22-25
22 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. 23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, "Do you see anything?" 24 He looked up and said, "I see people; they look like trees walking around." 25 Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything
clearly.

Mark 9:19-27
19 "O unbelieving generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you?
Bring the boy to me." 20 So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth. 21 Jesus asked the boy's father, "How long has he been like this?" "From childhood," he answered. 22 "It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." 23 " 'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." 24 Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" 25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil[a] spirit. "You deaf and mute spirit," he said, "I command you, come out of him and never enter him again." 26 The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, "He's dead." 27 But Jesus took him
by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.

Mark 10:51-52
51 "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see." 52 "Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

Mark 16:15-18
15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."

Luke 4:35
35 "Be quiet!" Jesus said sternly. "Come out of him!" Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him.

Luke 4:39
39 So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them.

Luke 4:40
40 When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them.

Luke 5:12-13
12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy.[c] When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." 13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" And immediately the leprosy left him.

Luke 5:24-25
24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...." He said to the paralyzed man, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home." 25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God.

Luke 7:9-10
9 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, "I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel." 10 Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well.

Luke 7:14-15
14 Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. He said, "Young man, I say to you, get up!" 15 The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.

Luke 8:48
48 Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace."

Luke 8:50,54-55
50 Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed." 54 But he took her
by the hand and said, "My child, get up!" 55 Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.

They stood at a distance 13and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!" 14 When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed. 15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. 17 Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" 19Then he said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well."

Luke 18:42-43

6 Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man's eyes. 7 "Go," he told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam" (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

John 11:43-44
43 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" 44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, "Take off the grave clothes and let him go."

Amen, excellent compilation of scriptures

GOD HEALS IN RESPONSE TO FAITH AND HIS HEALING IS FOR ALL. Part 1
. Matthew 4:23-24
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. 24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them.

Healing here goes along with the preaching of the good news of the kingdom. The gospel of the kingdom includes healing.

Matthew 8:5-7
5 When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. 6"Lord," he said, "my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering." 7 Jesus said to him, "I will go and heal him."

The centurion exercised faith and his servant was healed.

Matthew 8:13
13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go! It will be done just as you believed it would." And his servant was healed at that very hour.

It will be done as you believed.

Matthew 8:14-15
14 When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. 15 He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him.

Peter had faith and his mother-in- law was healed.

Matthew 8:16-17
16 When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases."

He healed all and this was a fulfilment of Isaiah 53.

The paralytic had to exercise faith to obey the words of Jesus

Matthew 9:22
22 Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that moment.

Healed by faith after touching the hem of his garment in faith

Matthew 9:25
25 After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up.

Jairus had faith and his daughter was healed

Matthew 9:28-30
28 When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" "Yes, Lord," they replied. 29 Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith will it be done to you"; 30 and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, "See that no one knows about this."

ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH IT WILL BE DONE UNTO YOU

Matthew 9:33
33 And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel."

Kingdom authority includes deliverance.

Matthew 10:1
1 He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.

He gave the disciples authority to heal every disease and sickness.

Matthew 12:13
13 Then he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other.

By faith the man stretched out his hand and he was healed.

Matthew 12:22
22 Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see.

Deliverance for the afflicted.

Matthew 13:58
58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.

They were not healed because of lack of faith.

Faith even such as a mustard seed can move mountains.

Matthew 20:32-34
32 Jesus stopped and called them. "What do you want me to do for you?" he asked. 33 "Lord," they answered, "we want our sight." 34 Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.

They had faith and received their sight.

Mark 1:25
25 "Be quiet!" said Jesus sternly. "Come out of him!" 26 The evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek.

Jesus commanded the evil spirit to come out of the man.

Mark 1:40-42
40 A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean." 41 Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" 42 Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured.

Jesus said” I am willing be healed.”

Mark 2:10-12
10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . . ." He said to the paralytic, 11 "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home." 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"

Demonstration of kingdom authority should go along with salvation.

Mark 3:5
5 He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.

The man stretched out his hand in obedience and he was healed.

Mark 5:8
8 For Jesus had said to him, "Come out of this man, you evil spirit!"

Jesus spoke the words and demons had to flee.

Mark 5:34
34 He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering."

It was her faith that healed her.

"Don't be afraid; just believe."

Mark 5:41-42
41 He took her by the hand and said to her, "Talitha koum!" (which means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!" ). 42 Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.

He raised the dead.

Mark 6:5-6
5 He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6 And he was amazed at their lack of faith.

Only a few were healed, too many lacked faith.

Mark 7:29-30
29 Then he told her, "For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter." 30 She went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon gone.

A mother had faith and her daughter was set free from the demon.

Jesus although being truly God, was truly human and He set aside His glory and used Kingdom authority, he was empowered by the Holy Spirit and He looked towards heaven in communion with His father then this man was healed.

Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.

Those people had faith that Jesus would heal the blind man and he was healed.

"Everything is possible for him who believes." 24 Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" 25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil spirit. "You deaf and mute spirit," he said, "I command you, come out of him and never enter him again." 26 The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, "He's dead." 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.

Strange how that generation were so unbelieving, what does it remind you of? They didn’t have the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit though and we do.

Mark 10:51-52
51 "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see." 52 "Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

The blind man came in faith and was healed

Mark 16:15-18
15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."

The commission we have given includes demonstration of Kingdom authority. It includes healing and deliverance as well as salvation.

Luke 4:35
35 "Be quiet!" Jesus said sternly. "Come out of him!" Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him.

Jesus just had to command demons to come out and it was so. He has given us that authority as his people we can see those things happen in the name of Jesus

Luke 4:39
39 So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them.

Jesus rebuked sickness and disease. He did this because it had no place in her body. The author of sickness and disease is Satan himself. The nature of God is that of a healer- he is Jehovah Rapha

Luke 4:40
40 When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them.

He laid hands on each one of the sick and they were healed.

Luke 5:12-13
12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." 13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" And immediately the leprosy left him.

Jesus never said I will not heal you.

Luke 5:24-25
24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...." He said to the paralyzed man, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home." 25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God.

The demonstration of kingdom authority brings forth salvation. In Acts chapter 2 on the day of Pentecost 3,000 were saved in response to what they saw and heard but in chapter 3 a lame man was healed and at the beginning of chapter 4 we read that 5,000 men and probably woman and children were saved after seeing this miracle.

Luke 7:9-10
9 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, "I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel." 10 Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well.

Would Jesus be amazed at our faith?

Luke 7:14-15
14 Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. He said, "Young man, I say to you, get up!" 15 The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.

Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, a man who had been lying dead in the mortuary was raised from the dead in the basement of a building while Reinhard Bonke was speaking. His wife had faith and had his coffin delivered there. The presence of God- the glory brings forth healing.

Luke 8:48
48 Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace."

When we exercise faith we experience that wonderful peace of God.

Luke 8:50,54-55
50 Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed." 54 But he took her by the hand and said, "My child, get up!" 55 Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.

Just believe- be healed. Those were Jesus words.

Luke 11:14
14 Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed.

People stand in awe and amazement when they see the miraculous. Is it any wonder that the enemy has fed so many lies to the Church of God throughout the ages to stop us operating in power?

Luke 13:12-13
12 When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, "Woman, you are set free from your infirmity." 13 Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.

We should give praise to God for our healing, it is God who heals.

Luke 17:12-19
12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him.

Jesus healed ten lepers yet only one a Samaritan thought to thank him.

Luke 18:42-43
42 Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has healed you." 43 Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.

People witnessing the miracles also gave praise to God.

John 4:50
50 Jesus replied, "You may go. Your son will live." The man took Jesus at his word and departed.

We too need to take Jesus at His word.

John 5:8
8 Then Jesus said to him, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk." 9At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,

Jesus was not bound by traditions of men, he healed this man on the Sabbath.

John 9:6-7
6 Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man's eyes. 7 "Go," he told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam" (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

The man acted by faith and obedience and he was healed.

John 11:43-44
43 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" 44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, "Take off the grave clothes and let him go."

Lazarus arose from the grave, although he had been buried in the tomb for four days because of his compassion for Mary and Martha and they had faith that if Jesus had been present their brother would not have died. Jesus wept with compassion, he hurts when we hurt, he is gracious, merciful and compassionate and responds to our faith.

John 4:50

I think you are preaching to the choir, Pete. :)

But the debate is about the way healing is derived.

Some say... it's very simple, Jesus came to earth to do for God's people the thing they couldn't do for themselves, which is to satisfy the requirements of God's law. ie, the "Lamb of God"

So that the people of God could realize the blessings, but not be cursed.

Very simply stated, salvation was included in the blessings, and
sickness and disease was included in the curses.

Others, as you say, "Jesus healed\heals

We ask you, how?

Even though all the verses point to God healing, I think the bigger thing is if God will find that faith. Even Jesus could only do so much when He couldn't find faith. You can see how little we have when we are surprised when God actually does heal someone.

Well, we can argue the mechanics of healing until we drop and I will claim one way works best for me and you can claim another works best for you but we both go right on healing the sick and is glorified, no matter what model you use or what model I use.

Who knows, we might both be wrong, but God uses us both.

But that is not an answer to my question.

Give me a teaching to explain how Jesus heals.

Haven’t I done this? … Like, for months!!

What exactly do you want? I have explained my “teaching” on healing in about as many ways as I know how.

We work till we're sick to get a fortune, and then pay a fortune to get well again.

Sorry I am not able to verbalize what I am thinking regarding this subject. I believe the fault is mine.

here is what I wrote on another thread, but I want to try to add to it if I may.

Quote:by Strong in Him

Jesus heals us of our illnesses - his Spirit gives gifts to people and one of those is the gift of healing.

How does that work when we pray the prayer of faith ?

What if the one praying doesn't have the gift of healing ?

Mark 16:17
And these signs will accompany those who have believed; in My name, they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues............... they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Jesus says if we believe, we will do these things, He didn't say if we have the Holy Spirit gift of healing we will do these things.

Jim, the huge question I have is this,

IF healing was part of the covenant package of blessings for those in the OT, and IF there is only a covenant of salvation in the NT, then, If Jesus heals today, outside any covenant agreement, or atonement\redemption, or no stripes on His back, then How does that healing come about.

I can find no scripture that gives any clear description of how we obtain healing .

I'm being just as honest as I know how, Jim, I am really seeking truth here.

I may start a new thread on "How does Jesus Heal"

I know some get mad at healing threads, but it's a fire in my belly, so I'm sorry.

You see, in my circle, there are those who have all varieties of healing theology, and the prayer of faith, IMO is almost impossible to come by.

Thanks for your patience

Honestly, Franky, I do not know all the ways God chooses to heal people and I wonder if it really matters.

James said, Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works (2.18). Faith and healing are not things we are to put under a microscope or analyze and debate (although it is fun to do so); faith is something that connects us with God and healing is what we do.

We work till we're sick to get a fortune, and then pay a fortune to get well again.
