You aren't kidding there...Jesus Christ was the Son of God, both God and man in the flesh. It's demeaning to refer to Him as being anything less.

My neighbor is a wise man too, so is my car mechanic. I've met a number of other people who think they're wise but aren't. I wouldn't mistake any of them for Christ.
Not only that, but this is a journalist reporting on religion. If she was to attribute a quote by Mohammed to some generic 'wise man' bet she'd hear about it.....
