Haven't been here for awhile. I'm currently reading two books
"Systematic Theology: A Pentecostal Perspective" edited by Stanely M. Horton
"Arminian Theology: Myths & Realities" by Roger E. Olson

If you want to see what books I've read or am about to read check out my website - http://jesusong.spaces.live.com

The booklist is down at the bottom of the page.

A little book called,'African Plenty',has really inspired me. It is by Fred Ramsbottom who served on the Congo mission field, with the Congo Evangelistic Mission (which became Zaire and then back to Congo) and is now known as the Central African Mission. During 36 years of service in missionary work and church planting he saw many answers to prayer and miracles. Souls born again and even the dead raised! Temendous little paperback from Marshall and Pickering.

Yes, The Cross and The Switchblade also Twelve Angels from Hell, as you say some become classics.

I have a book now by Tommy Tenney Called
"God's Favourite House"

Speaks of past
Tabernacles: Moses and David and also Solomons Temple ..and is asking the question in the book title.

Quote: "Man seeks God encounters at what he calls God's House, but God seeks encounters at what He calls man's house" What house are we building?

Interesting and challenging. jean

Thanks for that 'jayh',

I was given a book for CHRISTMAS CALLED,' My Story', by Selwyn Hughes,'From Welsh mining village to world wide ministry.'

Selwyn has only recently 'gone to be with the Lord'. He founded the 'Crusade for World Revival' and authored the 'Every Day With Jesus' publications. It's an inspirational read!

Going through "Trusting God" by Jerry Bridges (on God's sovereignty) and "Shepherding a Childs Heart" by Paul Tripp. Just finished Ed Murphy's tome on Spiritual Warfare . . . up next is "Desiring God" by John Piper (REALLY GOOD).

Just finished: A Generous Orthodoxy by Brian D. McLaren

Before that: The Art of Prayer by Timothy Jones

Currently reading: Know Why You Believe by Paul E. Little; The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning.

And also Damiano's Lute by R.A. MacAvoy. It's fantasy fiction, the 2nd book of a trilogy. The books aren't specifically Christian, but they have Christian themes.

Next on my list: Post-Charismatic? by Rob McAlpine (aka robbymac). Not yet released, but it should be soon, and I'm looking forward to it.

This Present Darkness is AWESOME. Don't forget the follow up . . . Piercing the Darkness.

I am still in Piper's Desiring God . . . and have almost finished Trusting God by Jerry Bridges.
