There was another thread 3 or 4 pages back with lots of posts on it.

Hagee gets bashed pretty good. But I listen to Hagee every week and have read his books - I do know that he does not believe this - it is something that has a different meaning - but you can read all the posts on it.

Granted I'm really no fan of Hagee, or some hated enemy of him for that matter, the simple fact is that He didn't say "Jesus is not the Messiah" in this video. He said Jesus didn't come to be the Messiah. Totally different view. If people are going to get up in arms about what he has said, they should at least get it right.

Didn't come to be the messiah... Huh?

Hagee believes and teaches that Israel and the Jews are saved outside of Christ. Meaning, that they don't have to go through Christ to be saved...

Hagee is a huge Zionist and believes that all end times focus around Israel and Palestine... However, Hagee completely ignores that Christ completed all at the cross and his resurrection. The old covenant is gone. Salvation is founded in jesus christ and Jesus christ alone (Except for the Jews, according to Hagee). Israel and Palestine don't have anything to do with the End Time IMO. Go ahead, build the temple, raise your red heffers, train your leviticle priests... It's not going to usher in the Second Coming... Sorry Hagee, Lahaye, Jenkins, Stone, Hinn, etc...

I was just informed of this comercial from John Hagee promoting his new book "In The Defence Of Israel." Has anyone read this yet and what do you make of his statements in this comercial?

Yep and it was taken out of context. What they wanted you to hear that is what you hear the rest has been deleted.

Actually he said that Jesus came this first time to be a shepherd. When he comes back he will come as the Messiah.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I went and reviewed the past thread and got a better understanding of the situation. I'm not a big follower of Hagee and I've read only one of his books (which I didn't have to buy) which was "Jerusalem Countdown." I thought it was ok, however I feel that he bends facts around too much to exonerate Israel from any guilt of wrong doing.

If this video is shown out of context of the actual comercial (as Renee has stated), can anyone post a link of the full comercial?

IMHO: It just seems like any advertisment - with "surprise/shock" value - so it seems more interesting to listen further or get the book in this case....so whats said in few secs is simply to get the listener interested - doesn't really say much about the actual content...marketing stuff...??

Again - HAGEE DOES NOT BELIEVE THIS WAY - HE DOES NOT TEACH WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.

As far as Israel not having anything to do with us today - the Bible says that Jesus will set His foot down where it left off - He will return to Israel - ALL will go to Israel to worship - that makes it pretty important to me.

This is rehashing all the old bashing on the other thread as pointed out in the other post.

I would hate to think John Hagee would teach such a thing. He and I disagree on a lot of things (especially on his view of modern Israel and their place in his model of “the last days”), but I do believe he is evangelical.

Hagee is a very literal, well-researched speaker. I am sure that what he meant related to what the term "Messiah" originally meant.

We use the term Messiah to mean personal saviour.
But the people who knew the prophesies knew the word to mean military deliverer.

(I'm at the library and I can't even open a second window or tab to access studylight, so you'll just have to look it up.)

So I see no problem with that statement at all. Jesus claimed to be sent of His Father, sent for the people of Israel... but He never promised to deliver them from Roman control.
