Jude 1

8 In the very same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings.

9 But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"

10 Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not understand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like unreasoning animals--these are the very things that destroy them.

This shows that as powerful as Michael the Archangel is, he still has to call upon God or Christ to rebuke Satan.
So, therefore, a fight directlly between Michael the Archangel and
Lucifer would be won by Lucifer.

I disagree, I see this as we all have Jesus in us, and therefore, we will defeat Satan. Satan is defensesless against him, and Michael by the power of God would win. I know the scripture you quote.... But I have seen the power of GOD in ordinary people. So if you have God in you are we ever alone?

VOA,

I am with you all the way. The power of God is with Michael, and he would therefor defeat Satan.

But before the bell rings for Round 1. There is a substitution........

Jesus steps in.

Ladies and gentlemen, In the black corner wearing the red trunks, Satan. Boooooo Sssssssss Booooooooo

In the white corner, wearing the gold trunks the undisputed, undefeated champion.....Jesus!!!!! Wooooo Aaaaaahhhh Wooooo Hoooooo!!!

The crowd goes wild.......

ummmm....
Jesus made the substitution for humans-- not angels--
Angels serve Jesus-- remember...

and by the way--
the poll is about Michael vs. Lucifer
read Solo66man's post--
and youll find the answer to the question--
heres the power balance:
1. God
2. Jesus
3. Lucifer

^_^
if Michael and Lucifer went head to head--
Michael might appear to win at first-- but--
if he doesnt call upon the power of Jesus--
he would loose--
therefore the answer to the question is unfortunately...
Lucifer....

TO LUCIFER I SAY :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

Stick with the main question--
"In a fight who would win... Michael vs. Lucifer"
This is refering to their own power and strength--

should i rephrase the question?
ok...
In a fight- within their own power limits, who would win... Michael vs. Lucifer

Since neither has any power outside the power the Lord gives them (as His spiritual servants who would not exist apart from Him), your question is non-sequitor. It's like asking, "If a two cars with no gas were in a race, which one would win?" :)

Hey sensei,
lucifer was an Angel of God before being thrown out of heaven.Michael is still an angel of God and has more powers than the devil who has his own evil powers which I belive can be destroyed by the powers of good which the Angel has.
So I belive Michael will still win even without the help of Jesus.
And why do you ask? Because Michael is good and Holy. ;) ;)

I am well aware of that.

But as long as we are talking about "What if" situations, then I think it is fair to suggest that there "could" be a last minute substitution where Jesus steps in for Michael (to fight Satan, not as a payment for sin).

What about a WWF situation. Satan tosses Michael out of the ring and is beating him on the head with a chair. The ref is unable to stop this mayhem. The announcers are frustrated and wondering how such a thing could happen. Then the lights flash, the music comes up and here comes running from the dressing room......Jesus! The announcers scream, "Jesus jumped into the fight to take out his enemy."

Huh?

Concidering their own power limits, with out the power from God. I would say neither would have the strength to fight, neither would exist.

Heads or Tails?

Heads!

...

Heads it is. Michael wins.

Questions to help in making the final decision.

1. How will they fight?
(Boxing, Kick Fighting, Karate, Sword, Pistols, Paper-Rock-Sissors)
2. What rules are there to the fight?
(WBA rules, WWF rules, Standard duling rules)
3. What are their fight records? How many KO's?
4. What are their vital stats? Does Satan have a longer reach than Michael? Is Michael a heavy weight, or feather weight?
5. Who's turf will they be fighting on? Will one have a home advantage?
6. Who will ref the fight?
7. How many rounds will they fight?
8. How long is each round?
9. Does a KO declare a winner, or is it to the death? Or to the pain?
10. What is the prize?

This whole thread is based on what we would presume. I do believe every word of scripture. I read the passage you posted and I believe that is what happened.

If the question was about scripture you would be absolutely correct.

But since we have to "pretend" that Michael has to fight Satan without calling upon God. We are moving out of scripture and into "Make Believe World". Here in "Make Believe World" the rules are different. What I am trying to do is find and define the rules we are to follow in making the decision of who would win.
