Mitt Romney's endless bragging about his wealth and success has kept him near the top of the Republican polls, but he's running for the nomination of a party that has nothing left to sell.

Article attacks Romney and offers little substance. I guess you could say that it offers a bit of light on venture capitalism, but only after weeding through paragraphs of non-substantive attacks on Romney.

There have got to be more substantive criticisms of Romney out there than that. If that's the worst that can be done, I'm taking another look at Romney.

Could someone fill me in on the more meaningful differences between a bloodsucking CEO and a politician?

EDIT: mainly observed character traits and such

A politician has his hands in your pockets.

After reading your posts in this thread:

http://foru.ms/t6292847-general-political-discussion-voegelin-10-20-2007.html

this thread seems more than just a little hypocritical. I'm just sayin'.
I was outvoted. I'm fine accepting the consensus going against me. Just as I'll enforce the rules as they are decided, so to will I post in accordance with the rules as they are decided. I was overruled in that and other reports and accept that.

Are you trying to suggest that mods don't follow consensus rulings?

I don't think that the Republican party is quite in shambles enough to fall for the shennangins of a huckster like Romney yet...

no but the democrats have fallen for an ambulance chaser, John 'do what i say not what i do' Edwards...

For the seven days ending October 28, 2007,
Hillary Clinton earns 44% of the vote.
Barack Obama is second at 20% followed by
John Edwards at 14%.

Very relevant? ^_^

in all fairness, Edwards is still doing quite well in Iowa, and early state momentum can mean a great deal, considering that not many people are paying all that much attention, even at this point.

we sometimes forget that those of us here are political junkies, for the most part. Both Obama and Edwards still have a solid chance of beating Hillary, as both are polling much better in the early primary states where the voters tend to be more engaged, and which tend to affect the outcome of later races.

That being said, Edwards has pretty much set his whole stock in Iowa, and he isn't doing as well as he should be there considering his investment.

you don't consider 14% of the vote relevant? scary you would dismiss millions of people like that. if 14% isn't relevant to you, I hope you never work on any cost cutting or improvement project paid for by my tax dollars.
