Ok. Here we go. I have many questions I wish to ask. I am going to begin rather broadly, and then I will ask some specific questions to open you people up a little.

First off, I want you to describe the feeling, if any, you experience during prayer or even afterwards. And, if you do in fact feel something, what do you attribute it to?

After I see sufficient response I will elaborate as to why I asked these things of you. Respond carefully and don't copy other people's responses on purpose.

>>First off, I want you to describe the feeling, if any, you experience during prayer or even afterwards

There are lots of feelings I could describe. For example, when I pray I can feel a black cloud leave me sometimes. I feel all the pain and all the tension leave my body. At times it is like the storm has passed and I feel the calm after the storm. When the wind is not blowing and the sun is shinning, and it is a bright beautiful day. I feel love, joy, peace, contentment, satisfaction. In a pure way that nothing apart from God can give to me.

Any confusion I had leaves me, any doubt, worry or fear departs. I start to see things clearly, I start to understand things that I may have struggles for years to understand. Paul talks about a Joy unspeakable. We may magnify the Lord, but we could never begin to share with people all that He has done for us. Things we could not earn, merit or deserve in anyway. All because of His love, mercy, grace and forgiveness.

This really does not begin to discribe it, but it's really the best I can do for now. Thanks, JohnR7

All that God does in our lives is though the Holy Spirit of God. He is our helper, our teacher, our comforter. He guides us and leads us in the way that we are to go. We do receive help from the Angels, but the Holy Spirit is on the inside of us.

I am the sort of person who likes to stay after Church. God pours out the annointing of His Holy Spirit, only there are some who do not open up to receive what God has for them. If people do not receive what God has for them, then God will give it to someone else. I am sorry if not everyone will receive what God has for them. But if they do not want it, I am more than happy to linger in the persense of God, and enjoy the joy and peace, intended for them. Thanks, JohnR7

1 Peter 1:7-9
"7
so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
8
and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
9
obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls."

I have to say this tho. last night a bunch of us were talking and it was mentioned that even tho we continue to sin God still loves us. I added that it is a real test of faith to see the love he has for us; because we know we continue to do the same thing over and over again disobeying God but it is the continueing struggle to free ourselvs from this sin that and teh struggle to continue to hold the hand of Christ to help us out of this hole we dug for ourselfs that keeps us close to him. It is peace of mind/heart/soul knowing he will be there for us showing unconditional love. We should give nothingless in return.

what do I feel? Sometimes nothing, just like if I hang up the phone with someone, ya know, just hey how are ya doing. Sometimes I feel him right there, meaning I don't feel alone, or my shoulders are lighter. It depends on what I am doing...but then I don't think I pray like a lot of other people do ya know? I address him and then just start talking....I feel him more when I am singing then at any other time

Ok. Good responses. Except Optimus...I am usure as to how your response tells me how you feel during prayer. Please tell me how you feel, physically or mentally or otherwise, when you pray. A bible verse doesn't tell me about you. Thanks.
And also, for futher reference, please do not think that I am being hostile in any of my posts. Religion is a very emotional subject and I am merely trying to enlighten myself as to how christians feel and think about certain topics. I also hope to enlighten you on how some outside of christianity think. If I overstep those bounds in any way, please let me know. Just remember that it is also possible for you to offend me, so I ask that you do the same. We are all people, god's or not, and we all deserve the same considerations. Thanks.
I need some more feelings before I can continue. Come on people, look lively! :o

I think it would help to look at the big picture, and not just our feeling and emotions.

If Adam and Eve had never sinned, they would still be alive today in perfect health. They would have never grown old. Adam would not have a bald spot on his head, Eve would never have a headache. They would have perfect teeth, perfect hearing and perfect sight. There would be no pain, no misery, so suffering no sorrow. It would never be to hot or to cold. They would still be in Paradise and when they went to tend the garden, they would nto have any weeds, thorns or thisles. There would be nothing harmfull in all of creation. No little bugs biting us or stingers on the bees. We would never have to worry about getting bitten by a dog, the lion and the lamb would lay down together, and a child could lead them peacefully about.

The good news is, that Edon is now on the inside of us. We still live in a fallen world, but the world is on the outside of us. It will be transformed and restored as well. But now, we have been transformed and restored so that the Kingdom of Heaven, Paradise is on the inside of us who love God. We have perfect peace and contentment. We have satisfaction as the world can never know satisfaction. We have already obtained what they are seeking after in all the wrong places and in all the wrong ways. The children of the devil are deceived and being lied to. We know the truth and we have freedom to walk in.

Beyond this, pray, and the Holy Spirit can show you what Eden was all about. I do not know about others, but before I got saved, I longed inside to have the love, joy, peace, happyness and contentment that I have now found in Christ. Not that I could have ever found it on my own. But God will come to those who are seeking Him. He is always searching for whosoever is willing to repent and turn back wholeheartedly to Him.

2 Chron. 16:9a For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

Hmmm. Good question. I guess, if I had to give a "feeliing", it would be "confident". There have been times, after I've spent time in prayer when I have physically felt rather shaky, or weak. But usually there is not such a physical feeling. So I guess you would call the feeling of confidence an emotional, or mental "feeling." But for the record....I don't pray with the expectation of feeling anything.
