16 year old girl in excrutiating pain

Last year she had to have an ovarian cyst removed, six months ago she had gall bladder surgery, and for the last month and a half she's been on Oxycontin because she has such extreme abdominal pain...she visits the ER regularly (meaning every two to three days) where her parents call ahead so they can get the morphine drip ready...the pain is that bad. And oh yes, she's only 16 years old.
This girl is such a trooper...she always has been. She's grown up with asthma yet has been very active. She's smart as a whip and funny as all get out. And she will let herself get to horrific pain before she'll complain about it. She was just in the ER again tonight and now she also has pneumonia. Her parents are trying to bring in the best specialist (gastroenterologist) in the area, but now the pneumonia has to be treated before any further tests can be done.
She's in terrible pain and now has trouble breathing to boot.

I had assumed that they would've immediately checked for endometriosis, especially given her history of an ovarian cyst at such a young age. At this point, her parents are so numb that they tell the rest of us, "they've checked for everything" so that's the information we go on...[/FONT]
