(Luke 13:3) "...But unless you repent, you too will all perish."

It's a beautiful thing when a man picks up his cross to follow Jesus. There is much suffering involved as God seeks to put a man's sin to death.

(1 Peter 4:1) Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin.

(Matthew 16:24) Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

No man can stop sinning on his own, but the Grace of God is given to us so that we can stop sinning.

(Titus 2:11-12) For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. (12) It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age

REad Romans 3.  It makes things really clear. 


Rom 3:10-18
10 as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;
11 THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD;
12 ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE."
13 "THEIR THROAT IS AN OPEN GRAVE, WITH THEIR TONGUES THEY KEEP DECEIVING," "THE POISON OF ASPS IS UNDER THEIR LIPS";
14 "WHOSE MOUTH IS FULL OF CURSING AND BITTERNESS";
15 "THEIR FEET ARE SWIFT TO SHED BLOOD,

It would be better to cut off our hands than to tolerate what is evil and sinful."

We cannot tolerate sin, and the only way to accomplish this is by hating our own lives.  When we hate our lives, we will stop idolizing those things which keep us bound to sin.  Then will God's grace be available to us to say no to sin. 

(Jonah 2:8)  "Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.

It happened in the OT, but yes I would agree at this time I do not think it should happen. As for the sin question, sin is sin no matter what. Truth is not reliative.

no problem sin is to go against God.

God...as in the God of the Jews and Christians. The God one reads about in The Bible.

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking.

Lutherans, Roman Catholics, and a whole bunch of other denominations and non-denominational groups all believe in the same God...the God of the Bible.
