I wrote this for a school assignment a couple of years ago (which is why it's in a sonnet form...I don't normally write like that), but it says exactly what I wanted it to, and I guess the assignment is what helped me to put my feelings into words...it's about one of my cousins, who died shortly after birth.

Your life on earth was but one hour long,
But in my heart it will last forever.
I think of you almost every day.
Your memory will not fade, not ever.

I did not cry because you left so soon;
That I knew to expect. No, I realized
Because you never shed a single tear
We never saw those precious baby eyes.

Those eyes shine brighter than the stars above
As you look down on me from Heaven now.
You are safe, resting in your Father's arms.
Earthly pain He will no longer allow.

Keep me safe, watch over me, baby boy.
My angel, I remember you with joy.

Dee, thank you so much for your kind words. :)

I actually haven't shared this with very many people...only the teacher whose class I wrote it for, and a close friend. I only see my uncle once or twice a year, and it's never seemed like the right time.
