There goes my Jesus,
climbing the hill,
bearing the cross, in His Father's will.
Precious brow bleeding, punctured by thorns,
burdened by my sins, alone and forlorn.
There goes my Jesus,
nailed to a cross,
praying for mercy for all who are lost.
Bruised and afflicted, weary, alone
spat on and beaten, battered by stones.
There goes my Jesus, He ransomed my soul
I owe Him my life, His love made me whole.
Jesus, I love you, who paid for my sins
I open my heart now, invite you in.
There goes my Jesus, away rolled the stone
He's joined His Father, for my sins atoned.
Hands that were punctured, nailed to a tree
reach out in love for a sinner like me.
There goes my Jesus, His love for me
was nailed on an old cross, my soul He has freed.
Jesus, my Savior, they called Him names,
but here in my heart forever He'll reign.
