Instead of blindly believing what misguided men teach you....you should really study and research it out for yourself.

Do you honestly believe that I do not read and study?

Reading and studying is highly encouraged in The Orthodox Church.

You are misleading people.

Forgive me...:liturgy:

Psalm 78:2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

Mat 13:10 Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

Mat 13:11 Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Parables are dark sayings. He spake in dark saying "of old" it appears they are "open" upon "the harp"

Psalm 49:4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

Anyone got a harp? ;)

It will be great to hear the harpers harping^_^

Mat 13:11 Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Therefore, follow them to whom it was given.... and the ones that they taught first hand to pass it down from generation to generation to the end of time.

IOW ~ Follow the Bishops (never "one", but as a whole) whom Christ and the Apostles ordained.

Forgive me...:liturgy:

:D Who do you think JESUS was referring to as "THEM"? ;)

Matt 23:32 and ye--ye fill up the measure of your fathers. 33 `Serpents! brood of vipers! how may ye escape from the judgment of the gehenna?

Hebrews 7:12 for the Priesthood being changed, of necessity also, of Law a change doth come,

Reve 14:11 And the Smoke of the Tormenting of Them into Ages of Ages is ascending. And not they are having rest of Day and of Night...

Those whom he was teaching by parables, in contrast to those Apostles and deciples whom he was training for leadership.

BUT ~ Never follow just one Apostle... or Bishop... follow The Church as a whole... never an individual.

It has been asked if Jesus was in Hell. He was since scripturally speaking, hell is the grave. Hell is an English word derived from the Anglo-Saxon word “helan”, which means “to cover” or “to hide out of sight”.

The Old Testament was originally written in the Hebrew language; the New Testament was originally written in the Greek language. In order for the Bible to be read in English, therefore, it was necessary for Bible scholars to translate the Bible from the Hebrew and Greek languages into English.

The English word ‘hell’ was used by these translators to translate Hebrew and Greek words that were originally used by Bible writers to refer to the grave.

The Hebrew word for grave is ‘sheol’. The Greek word for grave is ‘hades’. Old Testament writers, like Moses, Job, David, Solomon, and Isaiah, recorded the fact that dead men are buried in ‘sheol’. New Testament writers, like Matthew, Luke, Paul, and John, taught that the dead are buried in ‘hades’.

Looking at Acts2:27-31 and Psalm 16:10, you can see that ‘sheol’ and ‘hades’ have the same meaning – the grave. Acts 2:27 is a direct quote of Psalm 16:10. In Psalms the word ‘hell’ is translated from the Hebrew word ‘sheol’, and in Acts the word ‘hell’ is translated from the Greek wore ‘hades’. This helps to prove that the two words mean the same thing.

PaladinValer has stated that Hell isn't sheol. If sheol is not the grave then just what is it exactly.

Thats the verse I posted:thumbsup:

Theres nothing wrong with following a good example.

I hear Paul loud and clear, and still love to plunged the depths of the stuff He speak of. His gift was nothing short of amazing.

Theres nothing like being quicken by another able to see and expound on the same glorious things.

No complaints here, Gods blessing is upon them;)

Matthew 10:28And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

I think everybody needs to have a read of Romans 9.

Remember Jesus declared to Annonius that Paul was the vessel chosen unto him, to bear his name before the Gentiles and their Kings and the Children of Israel.

Romans 9 is a very good description of how God is in control of what each individual does in their life.

Peace

Who is Annonius?

Did you Ananias? The "Antiochian" Orthodox Christian Priest who baptised Paul?

We still maintain the chapel where Paul was baptised... did you know that? On the street called Straight in Damascus. Which has been the headquarters of The Church of Antioch since 34AD.

Forgive me...

o_O; We are fools if there is no ressurection. What are you getting at here? I don't know where Jesus went after he died for us, so I won't claim anything. (whether this be because of my lack of knowledge or humans lack of knowledge, I don't know, so don't bother trying to combat this post..)
Chill out man!!!
