• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

ahh... the "attitude problem?" ;)

I think you need to sort your sleeping problems first,as a good rest makes reall diffeence, have you tried anything to sleep beter?
Yes all sorts from herbal medicines to trying to regulate sleep times etc.

This problem is genetic and evident from a young age. It drove the members of my family who didnt have sleep problems nuts :D Those who do have are sympathetic. My Dad has similar problems except he snores a lot, i dont. Ummm haha sleep well i have nightmares, intense dreams, chaotic and crazy, i have falling asleep/waking up hallucintaions and amnesia - saying that i still love my sleep. I tried a lot to sort it out.

Maybe the doc can help me with that - refine my diet perhaps? Though i did that once i got less sleep and became even more hyper

The extra enery - what do you do with it?
Karate helps and i go for walks around the town by myself (when less peeples are about) Ummm i tend to get up and wander heck of a lot, or stretch or go practise kata or something. I do all sorts, not much productive.

ANd my fav .subject ,what do you eat?Drink?WHat are your poisons?
Cross between a healthy diet and junk food. Im actually seeing a specialist about my ermm digestive problems and am to get tested. I do have a problem with colourings and other chemicals thats a fact. I drink fruit juice, water (sometimes, though its yucky) tea and occasionally coffee - i started drink chocolate soy about a year and a bit ago

I dont take poisons such as arsnic etc.... :p

Oh... erm not much alcohol, not very often (though i will drink a lot in one go) and the occasional root beer.

Are you on any medication? I think if you talk, you may start seeing some little things to do,to make little changes.
No medication. Im against medication mostly and i agree here - practical little changes - but we've all tried so much and so hard.

thankyou  heh - the councilling sessions i need right here on Foru.

Low apparent sexual interest (haha i have high :D though i dont show it)

rebel looks around awkwardly
You are supposed to be British, we don't talk about that kind of thing you know... :p

and erm tried to set a building alight :sorry: .

it is always nice to have hobbies
don't worry, I remember plotting to blow our school up when I was in year 5... my friend said he had plastic explosive... turns out it was just plasticine... so our plan was pretty much ended there... (true story!)

I was hooked on one cartoon most and hooked on the soft toy range that came with it

which cartoon? we must know!
my guess... care bears?
rebel stares off into space and sings 37 different cartoon theme tunes in his head...

Im one of those who beleive technology can help the world right now (building clean engines for example to counter "global warming" , or building a better energy system or something).

ooooh... don't get me started on global warming... - btw, they rebranded to "climate change" now... lol

Yeah nice house and someone to spend my life with (kids or not). A good job maybe i can work by myself from home or find a place where they can be patient with me - i appear slow at first and vague.

well, that is certainly no different from most people

I apologise that was a rather detailed picture but its the truth

don't be silly, it will help people understand.

"Immature" manners (not sure what this means... but if it means laughing at the word 'poo' than this is a yes too. rebel giggles at the word 'poo' - *joins rebel and adds the word "drippy" *)

rebel titters

i can converse but only if i can find people on the same wavelength. Going up to people and asking them if they like star trek or doom does not work...)

then I say the problem is with them!

Constant anxiety about performance and acceptance, despite recognition and commendation (haha yes but doesnt this apply to all?)

yeah... I found a few of these things funny, things I always thought applied to everyone apparently they don't... interesting...

Low to medium level of paranoia (it is not paranoia when they ARE out to get you - ha ha very funny rebel -

I do have my moments you know...

actually paranioa is one of those things im going to the docs about - its quite bad but not schitzo bad)

Known for single-mindedness (like the borg? im scatterbrained - i wish i was single minded so i can actually do ...stuff)

stuff is over-rated... just chill...

*breathes*

always a good idea

Often perceived as "being in their own world" (yes this is me to a T - sometimes im asked to come back down to earth but not in the midst of fighting the Romulans... ok i jest there but this is a 1000% me).

In Rebeltopia the Romulans and Vulcans have resolved their differences, the Romulans have given up their barbarian ways and have accepted the laws of logic as passed down by Surak. The leaders of the Romulans have made kohlinar and when they signed the peace treaty, there was not a wet-eye in the house... ba-dum, toosh...

Im going to request this to be moved to general mental health - either that or start again

what do you think?

I decided after much thought yesterday NOT to go to the docs.

Im a little "different", i know that. I have some issues that i have difficulty coping with (i know everyone has and do better but they stiill have them).

However i think i'll research methods for my own. I dont want a label stuck to me anyway and whether or not i have aspergers even very mildly should not matter.

It is claimed that some famous people in the past, may have had the condition or other problems relating (though it can be disputed) and how did they cope with out medical help? Well they found their own way in the end sooner or later.

As you suggest Q i might try a simple list then work out from there what to do.

Excellent, however in Star Trek reality were this to occur there would already be a secret Romulan underground resistance building up...

start it again, just post a link to this thread maybe?

I decided after much thought yesterday NOT to go to the docs.

that is good, I don't think you need the stress of that right now

but if you think you need help, therapy etc, then don't hesitate to go to the dr's. They can ever refer you to mental health charity services. I have website address somewhere if you would like to have a look at them.

Im a little "different", i know that.

have a look at most people... 'different' is a good thing

I have some issues that i have difficulty coping with (i know everyone has and do better but they stiill have them).

indeed, we all find our own ways to deal with them.

However i think i'll research methods for my own. I dont want a label stuck to me anyway and whether or not i have aspergers even very mildly should not matter.

it certainly doesn't

don't forget we are always here to help you whatever you decide

well of course there is, and they are working with the Dominion  but since there is an uneasy peace in the delta quadrant since Capt. Rebel successfully united everybody and defeated the Borg, it is not considered too much of a threat

... what do you mean Star Trek reality...? you mean it is not real...?????

My advice is B*unique ;)

seriously, when you feel low just get yourself to do something ,like go for a run,or hug tree,or dig a hole,or cook something,or,find some silly people to talk to,just dont feel let down,if they are too silly,or have no time...
and maybe get a punchbag;)

it is trye, havin a label could make it dificult of ryou,as you could obssess about it ,also,as jobs go,it could be a problem

i know you dont believe in God,but try a prayer...sort of chat to the divine, creator, just write it down,or think, does not matter

looking at problems can be easier, when one compares themselves to some other people, who are in much more trouble, and doing well...that usualy sobers me up,and prompts me to count my blessings...

well,i am off to make rebels life a misery,be back soon

Ah hello all

well you all know how ive mentioned my paranioa problems?

i have the thoughts all the time but im afraid i have had one of my "deranged" attacks today

I caused a lot of upset to others, pain to myself, just a mention here.

Luckily they are becoming a lot more scarse but they get more intense. :(

it is good that there are becoming fewer, but sad that they should be more intense. I don't know what to say,

I think the best thing would be to go to a doctor (preferrably not the one who cancelled your therapy) and see if they can find you some counselling or other support services.

I don't think you need medication, but therapy/counselling would be good for you. it is always nice to know that you have that outlet.

you might actually be best to go straight to the CPN (Community Psych. Nurse) they have services available - they have helped my mum with her depression + anxiety

there are always mental health charities you could contact as well, for advice and support without pills. they will be better qualified to help you than me

Yes im going to see if i can go see that "mind" charity.

Hmm i already had a talk with someone on msn who has an idea what im going through.

thankyou

I dont even know about CPN...

that is good :)

yeah, the CPN will be able to tell you more about the kind of services available to you than the GP, they specialise in that area. if you don't have any luck getting the number from the GP, phone the local hospital, they should be able to give you the number for CPN

I think contacting 'mind' is a great idea they will know what options are available and they will have experience to help you with what you are going through

I hope you feel better soon
