Going to watch it this weekend. I will let you know. I hope I don't expect too much with all the hype!

I must be a little slow cause I wasn't getting the moral to the story. I'm not comfortable with any occult stuff in any movie. The good magic against bad magic type of stuff. Anything that entices kids to think sorcery or taladsmand type of power is a good thing, makes me wonder. I like sci-fi movies but why can't they just have good guys against bad guys....I just dont' trust Holywood.

Saw the movie the other day and thought it had too much fighting and darkness . . . however, having said that, Tolkien was a Christian and I probably need to see it through the "good and evil" message. Am now reading the "Lord of the Rings." After finishing the book, I'll probably go and see the movie again and hopefully have a more positive view of it then.

i went to see it and i love the way in which the story is filled with a biblical theme to attack evil. i sat there and i was continually nudgeing my wife and giving her biblical insight to how God will deal with evil and also how we who are here on earth, are to fight the great evil that is trying to swamp our world. A bit scary for pg 8years felt that it needed to be at least a 12.

Yeah I saw it... I thought it was good... but a little scary. But it really makes you think what kind of things demons could be... although we can not see them in flesh, this movie definitely can put you back into perspective - that we are really fighting evil (although not with weapons and spells), but with people and prayer!!

I like the part where the elf stabs an orc in the face with an arrow, then uses the same arrow to shoot a different orc, at this moment in the movie I truly understood the full Christian relationship that everyone is pointing out. Thankyou for helping me to further extend my biblical knowledge!

Er, help me if I'm slow, but Georgia Caroline, just how do you see the relationship in that moment?! Or should my sarcasm meter being going off the scale?

I thought that movie was great, mostly because it could give me a visual reference of those characters I had read about oh so long ago in Yr 10... I had no idea the Balrog was so big, and the mines of Moria were so huge.

The book still rules, but the movie followed as closely as it could, with surprisingly few key scenes being left out.

Thought Aragorn would be cooler but
