There are those that would have us to believe that we are to pray for a matter once and never pray again. If that is true we should pray for our children when they are born or perhaps, even before, when they are conceived maybe. We should ask God at that time for all the blessings we want to see on our children and then believe that God has hearf our prayer and if things turn out differently then we should know it is all our fault because our faith was lacking, and it has nothing at all to do with the WILL OF GOD!

How ridiculous and absurd. Just as some would have us to believe that we are to ask once and never ask again. This is very common teaching of the name it and claim it crowd, that ignores the examples in the Bible of all the great men and saints who prayed constantly and without ceasing, and about the same topic.

There are so many scriptures to refute that ridiculous teaching, that I would not take the time to list them in this post. Look in your concordance under pray, prayer, prayed and related listings and read for yourself.

Pray is a serious matter of communion with God, and not to be treated as a topic, we should listen to every teacher who writes a paragraph or two and claims to have the mind of God.

I urge you to verify what you are told with GOD'S Word, and if it cannot be verified, or is contrary to it, REJECT IT as a false treaching!

Prayer and faith are companions that don’t function well when they part company and try to succeed alone. For example James 5:15, “the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick.” If we try to separate prayer and faith here the verse becomes absurd. “The prayer offered without faith will...” or “Lack of prayer and faith will...” The will is obvious, “will not restore the one who is sick.” The two must function together.

Also, in addition I believe and agree, that preaching, conversations with others, and a host of other things should raise questions in our lives and regarding our faith. These questions should do what historically they have always done in the church and in the people of the church: They should drive us to the Word of God.

This is an awesome fact, you have brought out. Prayer and faith are of course, conjoined twins. It is impossible to be effective in one without the other.

Just a thought is it not important the prayer without ceasing used.
To brake ground that the enemy is fighting us for in the heavenlies.
Otherwise would it not be like fighting a war with one bullet and walking a
way. Without taking our ground. I mean the devil is not going to give things up without a battle.

Great post Gerry and good point kim. Just what I needed.

Question:
Should we pray without ceasing on one thing until we recieve an answer, or should we pray without ceasing with multiple objectives and trust in faith that they will come to pass? Or maybe both??

Keep knocking until a door opens to you (not necessary the door you're knocking in the first place).
