The dictionary defines Steadfast, as being "constant; firm." Stubborn, however, is defined as being, "unreasonably obstinate; unyielding, inflexible."

The difference in the life of a born-again child of God is the Written Word. Standing on the Written Word of God, we can be constant, firm, and Steadfast; without it, we are only unreasonably obstinate, unyielding, inflexible, and Stubborn.

It is written, "Thy Word is very pure...Thy Word is true from the beginning." Psalm 119:140,160

May God stir our hearts and help us to understand that it is By His written Word that we must measure every aspect of our lives, and that it is in the Living Word, that “we live and move and have our being.” Acts 17:28

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."
1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV

Gerry ,

Absolutely wonderful post. How true your post is!!

Yes, our everyday lives are to be offered as continuous worship.

Rom 12:1(KJV)
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Some people find that singing a hymn during their devotional period each day -- or even just reading the words of one -- helps with personal worship. Some, myself included, find it uplifting to think of things we have to be thankful for. It is sad at times to hear fellow Christians saying that they are not having personal Bible study time or devotional time on a daily basis. I believe that it is crucial in our daily walk. The Word of God needs to be in our hearts and minds at all times, so that it can influence everything we do and say. Otherwise, we won't be close to God, or faithful at obeying Him, unless we are in His Word every day.

You have referenced one of my favorite verses:
Psa 119:11 (KJV ) Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Another one of my favorites:
Psa 119:105 (KJV) Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Dear Heavenly Father, please help us to realize that we are to worship You every day, with our very lives. May this become our greatest joy, and may we do it more and more. In Jesus' name, amen.
