Am sorry it's been hard for you, Erwin. But, honestly, it still doesn't make any sense. And people have still been driven away. All of this has been a mistake, and caused everyone - including you - pain, for no reason.

Okay, I decided to post an FAQ to answer some questions here:
http://foru.ms/t5956429-forums-faq-to-recent-changes.html

I'm going to reopen this thread. You can continue discussions here. :)
Please address the issue of how new CHRISTIANS will find this site, and why they would ever want to join it if they did.

Many, many Christians came to this site through searching for Christian forums - you acknowledge that yourself in your FAQ. You also acknowledge that the site has lost many members since these changes, and after reading your responses you are very likely going to lose even more.

So how are new Christians, or any Christians at all, going to come here to participate in your Joel Osteen-ish outreach program? And if they don't come, and you're losing the Christians who are here already, who is going to be doing this outreach?

I think perhaps just as important is the question. If you are not going to define what a Christian is how are you going to convince a non-believe they should be one?

I never convince a non-believer to believe because that role belongs to the Holy Spirit.

Jesus told us to go preach to all nations. He didn't tell the Holy Spirit to do it. Yes, the Spirit does the changing of the heart, but we're the messengers, and if we can't even define the message we're going to do a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]-poor job of things.

Without the snark, I have essentially the same question.

Sure it is indeed the Holy Spirit however you are often (at least I hope) His agent.

Yep, as Christian believers (assuming each of us are a believer), the Holy Spirit will lead each of us to share the truth with others in our lives more than our words.

I closed the thread because I was going to start a new one - then I decided to close the new one and keep this one open. :)
I read your new thread. I am not familiar with all that has transpired but I have been reading lots of this since this afternoon. Your new explanations do not seem to make sense to me. The decisions you made were not only economically challenged but also went against the grain of a community you already had set up that you indicated was growing quickly and was very successful.

There is no way for me to understand your decision given those self admitted facts. From all I have been able to gather you are the sole owner of this site and whatever decision you make is really no ones concern.

I will keep reading and report again. It seems to me so far you may have made a mistake and refuse to admit it. That is your prerogative and I respect you for your tenacity. From a business standpoint it is difficult to understand. From a Christian standpoint it is even more difficult to understand. I will proclaim ignorance on my part for the moment and keep reading. Thanks for the explanation.

And when was the last time you led someone to Christ not using words?

God commanded us to MAKE disciples but there are those whose mission is to "save" rather than disciple. How many are willing to disciple new believers after they are saved? In Matthew 28, the great commission that we are to be “making disciples”. I always believed that the Holy Spirit converts and Christians disciple which means giving up has to do "self" while cost of discipleship has to do with discipling "others".

God knew dscipling is the best way to go. Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples

The BEST Evangelist is the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ and as I talk, the Holy Spirit will work in a person's heart to be convicted. 1 Thessalonians 1:5 "because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake." John 6:29 Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one He has sent."
I serve while the Holy Spirit does the REAL work.
