I understand. It can be said....and I think both St. Paul and Mother Tereasa said that we are the "crooked pencil in God's hands", so you do have a point.

Oh really? What is Jack Chicks statement of faith? Do you even know?

Jack Chick frightens me a bit, but I also find it so absurd as to be humorous. Personally, I read every new tract that comes out, sometimes practicing on the translations in German to learn more German. But I take it with a huge grain of salt.

I've seen and learned enough on this forum that I believe your statement should be qualified to say what they hate what they THINK are Catholic teachings. Reading Chick Tracts to learn about the Catholic Church is certainly one way to gain an incredible MISunderstanding of Catholicism. Quite frankly, if I knew nothing of the Catholic Church and used Jack Chick as a teaching authority, I'd probably hate it too. I mean, REALLY. Worshipping dead people, teachings based upon pagan Egyptian rituals, deifying Mary.... that stuff is an abomination to me!

I know Catholics are the group that has taken most of the Chick wrath, but RPG players are in the top 10 of people that have been maligned and misunderstood because of his hate.

You are correct for the most part, but this is also ture for many denmoinations. I play music with SDA and not to many years ago they were listed as a cult. So, it like a famous man once said: it's not what you know that hurts you, it's what you know that ain't so".

Personnaly, I think Jack Chick is an over-zealous, extreme religious fanatic, nut-case. He reminds me of those cultish people who handle live rattlesnakes at each 'service'. But that's just me.

Here's the rub. God uses many things to get His message across. (He even used a donkey once. )

So, the question becomes, if God is calling someone into the fold, can any man prevent Him from doing so?

I am not a student of Jack Chick, if that is what you are asking me. I spent enough time on His website to find out I don't belong there. A statement of faith is important. We are know by our fruit however.

I have never seen such an amazingly libelous obituary in my life.

I am particularly surprised to discover that Jack's help allowed someone to escape "a life of vampirism".

I sometimes wonder if these people live in a world much more exciting, but less joyful, than the one God has blessed me with the opportunity to experience.

HI!!!!
I think the reason WHY the bible is mentioned first is that the bible, for many protestants, is the final authority in their life.
What the bible says, especially the Gospel, is what protestants belive Should be most important. After all, we should live in God's word, not mans....even good ol Jack.
If you don't start out with the bible first...how do you even get to understand Christ, his death, and his ressurection??????
