i wonder if i sould tell my parents about my ocd. it would be so hard and i dont know how to. if i told them i would be labeled as having ocd, and im scared that if that happened i would have a harder time dealing with it.

DEAR ONE,

ARE YOU: A. Trying to confuse an old man;

OR: B. Trying to change the subject;

OR: C. All of the above?

i didnt mean to change the subject! sorry i didnt mean to confuse u either! i think that ocd causes me to be scruplulous and i need medicine or help to make it go away but i dont want to tell my parents.

MY DEAR SISTER,

By any chance did one or both of your parents expect and demand that you be "perfect" when you were growing up as a child.

OCD cannot be healed by medication--it can only be healed by a surrender to God's all-Accepting, all-Understanding, all-Merciful, and, above all, His UNCONDITIONAL Love.

JUST TRUST IN HIS LOVE AND HIS PROMISES AS THEY ARE RECORDED IN SCRIPTURE--no matter what lies Satan tries to whisper in your ear.

GOD'S LOVE AND PROMISES ALONE ARE REAL!

THEY ALONE ARE TRUE!

THEY ALONE WILL FILL YOUR OBVIOUS NEED FOR UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE!

MY SISTER,

So if you have "really good parents" i am not clear as to why it is a problem for you to ask them to obtain for you the medical help you feel you need?

it's really embarrasing to have to tell someone u think terrible thoughts, and when thoughs awful thoughts are about God it makes it even worse. read my blog if u want to, it goes into detail about the thoughts. and i want to make sure they know it's not something im doing to get attention, but i dont think they would think that.

MY SISTER,

Yes, i will read your Blog. In the meantime, discuss your needs with your parents. The thoughts of a person with OCD are not under their control and are thus should not be a cause for feelings of either embarrasment or guilt.

Do you not have a Pastor/Elder/Youth Counselor/Accountability Partner/ or whoever, with whom you can discuss this one-on-one. Face to face discussions are almost always more productive and healing that long-distance written correspondence.

YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS!

ephraim

ive been hoping my parents would just notice it and take me to the doctor. im not a very talkative person its a lot easier on here than in real life!

DEAR ONE,

It is your responsibility to speak up and tell your parents what you need. Usually things that are tearing us up on the inside are not visible from the outside, so we must take responsibility for asking for what we need and not hope others will "notice" our pain.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE
overcome your shyness--and, i believe, your fear of being judged--and talk to your parents!!!!!

i read your Blog and there is nothing in it that most Christians--myself included--have not thought at one time or another. i continue to believe that your worries, fears, guilt, and shame are the result of seeds planted in your mind by the Evil One.

FIGHT BACK by being honest and open with those who are in a position to help you!

thanks for ur help! mabey i can find a way to tell them, or show them if i have to. i think im going to get off now. im not even going to start w/ my shyness!lol! that would require a whole new thread! im more than shy, im afraid of my voice!

MY SISTER,

One last suggestion--if you feel incapable of explaining this situation verbally to your parents, why not write them a letter explaining everything just the way you have explained it to us, give the letter to them, sit next to them as they read it, and then answer their questions when they have finished. This may make it less stressful for you.

CHRIST'S LOVE TO YA,
ephraim

when u ask God for forgiveness does that include future sins? I know its wrong to sin just cause u know you'll be forgiven, but do i have to ask forgiveness after every sin? i think its good to, but is it absolutly nessasary?
I think 1 John 1:9 says that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us of all our sins. Notice the word "all" is used. There may be some we are unaware of or don't remember, but God does remember. If we confess then he forgives them all.
As far as asking for forgiveness for future sins. I don't do that. I ask for forgiveness as specifically as I can, when it comes to mind.

hannah, when Christ died for us. He took all of our sins, past, present and future. We passed from death unto life. We become righteous through Christ before God. God sees us through the blood of Jesus.
We are forgiven because of what Christ has done.
When we sin in our life against God, it does not affect our salvation because we have been reconciled.
Sin does affect our walk on this earth. When we sin we can get evil spirits and our life on this earth can be very hard.
It is our works that will be judged through fire before God when we get to Heaven, not our salvation.
When we confess our sins, we are cleansed from all unrighteousness, see this verse:
1John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We repent and God forgives us. If we don't we can end up like Jezebel in the book of Revelation. See these verses:
Rev 2:21-22
21. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
22. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
See these verses:
John 5:24
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

2Cor 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

1Cor 3:11-15
11. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13. Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

The Bible also states this:
Psalm 103:12
As far as the east is from the west, [so] far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

1John 3:14a
We know that we have passed from death unto life.

2Cor 5:19
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses (sin) unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Col 1:14
In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins:

Col 1:20a
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself;

Rom 2:4
Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

This allows you to be freed up so that you don't have to worry about your salvation and that you can get
busy doing the work of God.
Thanks,
TT

the main reason for this is because im scared of dying right after commiting a sin and not asking for forgiveness in time

That is a dreadful fear. And an unnecessary one. Jesus died 2000 years ago, long before you were born. Yet his forgiveness is there for you now, for all and every sin. The salvation Jesus gives us recognises our total inability to ever reach God's standards in any area of our lives. So, he gives us His righteousness as a gift. That is the only way we can ever have a relationship with God.

You are an introverted and sensitive person, and as such you will tend to be over sensitive to faults, find it hard to believe that you are accepted and loved, you have high ideals but they place unreasonable demands on you. I hope you can re-orientate yourself. I had to go down that same path once for many of the same reasons. I am so glad I chose to do that.
