The problem I have with the whole thing is this

How many days will it be before it all changes again? I would call on Erwin to put on some big boy laundry and be a leader and let the chips fall where they may!

You know here in the US we elect a president every 4 years and then we EXPECT him to lead the country. Not to hold a referendum every 3 weeks.

My vote? Be a LEADER.

And Erwin if you are reading this maybe now you will know how hard it really is to lead. Because if you are a leader some one is going to hate you.

PG

You hit the nail on its head!

ERWIN - PLEASE stick to decisions you make!:sigh:

I want a SAFE CHRISTIAN community, where I can kick off my shoes & be with other CHRISTIANS only.

Unfortunately I voted for option #1.
I think I needed to vote for option #2.

There is nothing wrong with Outreach. But it should be confined to a certain section of the forum & let the Christians have a place to mix & mingle with each other without attacks from the non-believers.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I think the poll will end very close to 50-50 split on the matter. I would be highly surprised if one side out numbers the other with any significance.

I prefer option 2 if the site is to keep its name. Also, I am in complete favor of keep our religion icons. However, I am not completely opposed to option 1 if the site's name is changed, but I will not be posting much here in that case. I am all ready member of a few free-for-all forum sites and I did not come there looking for another.

From what I have seen, many non-Christians come here even though it is called "Christian Forums," which proves that has been functioning as an unveiled outreach as it was.

I've been on staff as all levels except Admin and Exec, and I can assure you I saw no gossip or abuse.
I have to disagree with you there Timothy. It did exist. However I doubt it was the type expected, or to the extent expected, by those who have concerns. I can't really expand on that, but I would say that I believe greater transparency is a huge issue with the previous structure. Not necessarily because there was poor behaviour, but that there was no way to tell that there wasn't, so conspiracy theories were able to breed due to mistrust generated by an unhelpful model.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT CAN'T REMAIN CF
AND STILL HAVE AN OUTREACH SECTION
ISN'T THAT WHAT CHRISTIANS DO....
WE ARE TO TRUST GOD TO KEEP US SAFE

THEREFORE I YIELD MY VOTE TO THE MOVE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!!!

Six Reps will have to do although I wanted to give you more. I got this when I tried to rep you the seventh time.

I really, really appreciate this post. It is what I have been saying too. Safety isn't for Christians, but even so, no one can harm us unless God allows it.

You have given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later.

Well, there is an old standby that some Christians like to use when they don't get their way:

It's stupidity. It muddles the issue, and it lends an appeal to emotion to the discussion which otherwise wouldn't exist.

kinda like when a non beleiver yells "You want me gone cause I'm a non Christian!! You think your better than me just cause you are a Christian!"

Rather than reading through the entire discussion so far, my position is simple:

There's a time and a place for Christians to gather together for fellowship, study, etc.

AND

There's a time and a place for Christians to reach out to those who don't yet know Christ.

In a church service, there are limitations on what level of involvement non-Christians are allowed to have. We don't serve communion to non-Christians. We don't allow non-Christians to teach/preach. We don't have non-Christians leading the music, etc.

Is this being rude to or "shutting out" non-Christians? No.. quite the contrary. I don't think any non-Christian would be offended that he isn't allowed to stand up and teach his viewpoint in the middle of a church service.

I have no problems with non-Christians being allowed to post in all areas of CF... asking questions, fellowshipping, etc. BUT... I strongly believe the vision of CF should be to be a CHRISTIAN community where (despite all of our denominational differences) at least the basics of the gospel are clearly presented without debates of/promotion of many non-Christian views/religions/etc.

There are many non-Christians who, in the past, have come here PRECISELY because they knew they could learn about Christianity.

Of course he has a knife, he always has a knife, we all have knives! It's 1183 and we're barbarians! How clear we make it. Oh, my piglets, we are the origins of war: not history's forces, nor the times, nor justice, nor the lack of it, nor causes, nor religions, nor ideas, nor kinds of government, nor any other thing. We are the killers. We breed wars. We carry it like syphilis inside. Dead bodies rot in field and stream because the living ones are rotten. For the love of God, can't we love one another just a little - that's how peace begins. We have so much to love each other for. We have such possibilities, my children. We could change the world.

ARGH, the opportunism.

I deconverted for a little while. When I mentioned that my deconversion took place during the time in which I was active at CF - and I made it very clear that it was not BECAUSE of CF - I was castigated because I "was never really saved" to begin with and had "put [my] faith in CF, not Christ."

Now I see the same members who said that to me sometime ago suddenly expressing so much concern that the non-Christians will lead Christians astray. Why have the tables turned now?

Please tell me that I am not the only one who has noticed this. :(

I've noticed that too. I would be very interested in an answer to that question.

The answer is manipulation. Plain and simple. Feed the fires of fear and get your way.
