How do you guys over on the other side of the pond view the status of Christianity and Christians in different countries in Europe? What're your sentiments about the spiritual condition of attenders of Christian churches? I've always been interested to hear about my brothers elsewhere.

When I was on that research trip, I had a discussion with my advisor (who isn't a Christian) about Christianity in Europe. He is from Germany, and observed that only about 20% of Europeans actually attend church. I also got the impression that European Christianity is more liberal and cultural than here in America.

Of course, this doesn't necessarily reflect on all Europeans. We used to have a girl here at CF from a fundamentalist church in France, which I always thought was a bastion of atheism.

Sorry to hear that. But nonetheless, I'll take an Arminian Dispensationalist over a liberal Christian or a non-Christian any day.

I agree. Though both Calvinists and Arminians are in conflict in soteriological views, it is the best of interest to have Calvinists and Arminians work together to make Christianity grow, and grow both in sound doctrine and practice. After all, though George Whitefield and John Wesley weren't in agreement with each other on a few doctrinal points, they nevertheless expressed much Christian love toward one another.
