What day is the Sabbath? Are we to keep it still?

But, what if instead, we were to attempt to live every day in a way that is pleasing to the Lord and choose to set aside a portion of our busy-ness to spend quiet time with God in meditation and reflection?

Honestly, aren't the days of the week (meaning the names & which days are considered "ends"), themselves, an arbitrary, human construct?

That assumes your week starts on a Sunday, doesn't it?

If you are trying to live by the Law, it might be important to know exactly which 24-hour period to keep holy.
But, what if instead, we were to attempt to live every day in a way that is pleasing to the Lord and choose to set aside a portion of our busy-ness to spend quiet time with God in meditation and reflection?

This isn't really concerning the sabath but Im glad to find another who knows Jesus and knows WHO he is. And knows What God is along with Who he is. JESUS
The sabbath is no longer a day, but a person who is Lord of the sabbath. We rest in Him - Jesus the Christ (annointed).
Matthew 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
This has nothing to do with the weekly Sabbath or daily food or drink. This verse refers to ceremonial offererings and yearly Sabbaths like Passover.Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink , or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Hebrews 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Hebrews 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
Hebrews 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
But never mentioned Sabbath keeping, in this list!Originally posted by thetruthseeker
Paul emphasized the commandments. Romans 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
But never mentioned Sabbath keeping, in this list. Nine of the commandments are reiterated in the N.T. but not Sabbath keeping.James emphasized the commandments. James 2:10,11 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
My Bible says that יהוה (YHWH) wrote the commandments.Jesus said: John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. I understand that Jesus wrote the 10 Commandments with His own finger.
