Please introduce yourself

Hi all, my name is Melissa. I head the childrens church department at my church but I also volunteer wherever I am needed to. We have a nursing home ministry once a month and I am active in this. I also am on the hostess committee and provide transportation to those who need a way to church. I am happy that I found christianforums and I look forward to getting to know each of you. As I read the posts previous to mine, it is encouraging to see the teenage youth being involved with the church. God bless all of you for allowing Him to work through you to teach others about the love of Christ. Keep up the faith!

Hi, my name is Eric. I was just recently called into ministry. God is allowing me to take slow steps, but the more I take the more I love doing what He wants me to do!! Anyway, I am an altar counselor at my church. I also am just starting correspondence courses from Liberty University - I am not sure where that is meant to take me later but it was definitely impressed upon my heart to get some training. I have also been working on the boldness of my personal witness in areas of every day life, people, and times that aren't necessarily set apart for that purpose like church, etc. God has already allowed me to see some fruit in that area. My next door neighbor just got saved!!

God Bless

Howdy ya'll, my name is Marie, I'm 15, and I serve as the youngest usher in my church's history, in the prayer ministry, and I also have the opportunity to go into my dream ministry- I get to sing!! My dad is in the choir, and since my mom and sister go to church at a different time, I always go with him to choir rehearsals. I have always enjoyed singing, and I hope I'm pretty good at it. One day, when I was in there during choir rehearsals, I just prayed that if it was His will, God would allow me to use my voice for something in the Church. Well, that night as we were walking out into the parking lot to get in our car and go home, I met the guy who was just put in charge of the 3-6th grade band. He asked me if I could sing and told me I should come and sing in the band! I am so very *Blessed* and I love God with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength!!

Edit: Didn't want to give my name out.

Hello there every one!! I thought I would introduce myself, so

My name is Jay Mcintyre and I am 20 years old. I have been in some sort of ministry since I was 16 and now I am working for the charity North East Scotland Youth For Christ. Our mission statement is "Taking the good news relevently to every young person in Britian."

The way we do this is through week long missions, street work and a multi-media event we run called "Breathe". We also go into schools and evangelise there while running RE classes.

We have recently finished a mission in a small town in the North East of Scotland. EIGHT young people came to Christ, most of them previously were completely unchurched, so we are hoping and praying that there families may also see what Christ has to offer them.

God is truly amazing, and I praise Him for His work in this part of the world, and all over it!!

In His grasp

Jay

I introed myself on a different thread, but will gladly join ya'all :D

My name is Ruthie and I am a youth pastor. I went to a Bible college and took my training to get that title, but God gave it to me long before that.

I minister to all teens everywhere, anywhere. I started out 4 yrs ago in my calling working with street kids and gangs in Denver and in the Bronx area, NY.

Then came Columbine High School, 4/20/99, which I was one of the first volunteers there on the scene and since then, God has really laid it on my heart to work in the area of not only teen ministry, but especially in helping stop the violence.

I didn't know any of the victims or injured at CHS that day, but since then God has brought into my life Cassie Bernall's uncle, whom I'm forever bonded with as brother/sister in Christ. He and I helped watch over "Yes, I Believe" message board and it grew so much that the owner made it into a huge forum....Agape' Forum and asked me to administrate. Sherm is in the music ministry now and doing so well

I did administrate Agape' forum with ten of thee best "on fire for Jesus" teen moderators and together we served God and it beared fruit, grew large and was SUCH a blessing! The owner, last June, put the forum up for sale, feelings were hurt, Cassie's name/endorsements were dropped and after prayin' ALOT with the teens, I felt I needed to step down becuz I gotta stay true to the calling area God wants me in and that's school violence related.

Myself and two Christian girls from Columbine were just interviewed by Pressline, a NY publishing company (CPL) last month for a video tape and book to be released next year with excerpts in it from each place they stopped on their 15 city tour. They (CPL) visited cities from NY to CA stopping at sites such as Ground Zero, OKC Bombing Memorial, talked with Toronto Patterson in Texas on death row, went to youth day in Canada and saw the Pope....etc. It was an honor to be chosen by them and contacted because of what I do in the ministry.

I have worked with AWESOME hearts in the teen ministry and am linked with alot: Youth For Christ, Young Life (Urban), Reggie White, thee Nicky Cruz, Scott Mendes.....etc. I'm also working with christian artists, new and "old"....my daughter is in the CCM ministry in Nashville and has worked with Jars of Clay, D C Talk's Otto Prize, EMI, Essential and Sparrow Record producers. Cindy Morgan, Brad O'Donell and has signed a new contract with soapbox records.com. I'm a musician as well, I play my 14pc drum set (which keeps growing:) and have for awhile.

My new journey is a bi-lingual info board on all the top reasons why there is school violence, that has been documented, from 1996 up until Erfurt, Germany. PAGES of documented school shootings. We all only heard of the larger ones; Padducah, Jonesboro, Santee, Columbine and Erfurt. There are SO many more! All so very sad. I'm linked with FOCUS of COLORADO (government) and the board will be up in it's entirety soon with info on how to help in all aspects; students, parents and teens, schools, law enforcement and communities.

I've been called a "Christian Activist" :) That's cuz I have a big mouth when it comes to fighting the good fight and continuing the race....pressing on for the prize. Cuz, I believe in two things SOOO passionately:

1) God Almighty and His Son, Jesus Christ whom died on the cross for our sins and His blood was shed for us to not only forgive, but to forget what our past consisted of......PRAISE JESUS! He changed my whole life, a miracle in and of itself. I am SO in love with Jesus!

2) The youth. I truly believe that they are the generation that is gonna step up for Jesus and altogether bring a revival to our world. I've seen it happenin'...they are AWESOME and despite the angry youth, there are more and more teen "Jesus Freaks" and are so ready to serve Him and are gearin' up to do just that. They inspire me SOOOOO much and I thank Jesus for them....for all of you!

WHEW! I wrote a book!:) But, that's me.

God bless ya'all for what you are doing for Jesus! Your reward will be SO great! Hang in there and keep reachin' for Him to guide the Way. That's what I do everyday, sometimes every minute. Whatever it takes!

Love and Faith,

Ruthie

Hello,
I am involved with the Marriage Ministry at my church. We have been attending for 2 years.

Before-hand we were involved in co-teaching a marriage enrichment class though the parent church for 6 years previously.

Now, we are helping the pastor create and facilitate the marriage ministry with another couple. I also have taught IBS method of Bible to a mens ministry once a week. I am also doing one on one discipleship right now also in a marriage counceling situation.
I am also kinda seeing what God has for me in a position in Montana as a Assistant Pastor of Discipleship. It came up when visiting family over there, and I am open to what God has for me, anywhere He leads me.

God Bless ;)

Hey all,
I've been called into ministry for many years, but am now taking the appropriate steps to fullfull that calling in God's time. Currently I go to a small church, so I'm involved in many types of ministry work. Outreach, childrens church, fellowship, music, preaching, home bible studies, and whatever the Pastor's needs that requires some one who is in the ministry. And since their is no other minister's in the church, he uses me.

I'm currently attending regular college, and within 2 years I will probably attend a formal bible college. It's going to be tough cause I have a wife and 3 boys and have to support them also.

There is no way I could possibly express my excitment and joy in what the Lord is doing and using me for. My abilities are nothing.

My name is David McQueen, I am 33, married with two daughters. I have been involved in youth ministry since I was 21. God has had to shake me up, break me and is in the process of remoulding me at the moment. By profession I am a software consultant/designer but I have felt and have been resisting the call into full time ministry, but no longer.

Two years ago I set up a ministry called  Milestone Ministries  www.milestonemg.org with the mission "we only have a few miles to go" and each milestone in getting to God is important. I believe in working with youth, pre teen (teens can often be too late to catch the dveloping mind) and moulding on that platform when they reach teen/student age. Many youth leave church before 21, I am more concerned that they don't leave God!!!

The ministry also involves the following:

- Working as a motivational speaker on a program called HeadStart which allows me to go into public schools and speak about careers, finance, goals and I base it on my spirituality and my walk with God.
- Writing devotionals (post my weeklies in the edification forum)
- conducting Seminars and workshops
- Writing and promoting christian music

Next year I am biting the bullet and going into this full time by God's grace. Hope that wasn't too much. God continues to reveal himself to me, and I pray that through my ministry if I am the only "Jesus" others see that I have represented him correctly and that he keeps me humble.

God is my strength

p.s. I call myself simple plan, because that is how I see God's plan of salvation for me. No frills, spills....just a simple plan of restoration.
