What's a lot?

I think we have 3 or 4 couples as friends - some of my friends are part of a couple, but I'm not really friends with their spouse. Then there are couples who are friends with us as a couple. Not all my couple-friends are married, though - but I see them as a couple because they are living together (most of my friends are atheists, and living together is the norm here except for believers).

We have a few couple friends as well, but then it gets complicated...
For instance, we are friends with our Pastor & his wife as a couple; I am also friends with the wife; I lead our youth group with the husband; my husband is friends with our Pastor & they get together most weeks for bible study and/or social; their eldest (nearly 17) is a friend of mine (and she's also a junior youth leader, so we get together in that capacity); the 3 eldest kids are in my youth group; my daughter is friends with (especially) the 3 youngest; the 2 youngest boys curl up on my lap for cuddles; the eldest boy is friends with my husband (and also does gardening jobs for us)...

It's not so clearly defined.

I guess we have friends who are single, friends who are couples, friends where the whole families mix, & couple friends who we have relationships with their kids too...

Yes, we have lots of lovely friends!

I wish we had more. We have a couple, but that's it.
Mostly the ones I get along with, my hubby didn't like the husband. And vice versa. It's hard to find two people that you both click with. And that are of good moral values. That's important to us.

Not really. I'm amazed how hard it is to find a couple where the hubbies will actually have enough in common and compatible personalities to make it interesting for them to visit while us gals chatter on.

I've pretty much given up. LOL. :)

My husband and I were just talking about that yesterday, actually. We have couple friends, but usually hang out with them in groups that include single people. I love that, but I think it is important to spend quality time with other couples so that you can encourage each other, and help to strengthen each other's marriages.
