Sad news today

My brother called a few moments ago. After an m.r.i yesterday, they are seeing no change in his tumor. For some reason, and I'm not sure how they came to this conclusion, they have told him he has one year at best, with treatment. Treatment is giving him more time, that's all.

My heart is so heavy, for the words I want to be able to say, the faith I want so badly to make him hold onto, wasn't there. I can't help but feel sorrow, and I don't know how to make him feel better, and remind him that the doctors ARE NOT in control of this situation. I know this, but why do I myself, feel so sad inside? Is that a lack of faith, will it hinder my brother!? Does God take my sorrow as a lack of faith?

I want so badly for him to be ok. I feel so helpless. Have you ever prayed so hard for something, that it actually hurt?

Just pray. Believe and pray.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother. God does not see our sorrow as a lack of faith, for even Jesus wept. He was a man of sorrows. God wants to comfort us in our times of sorrow, so don't be afraid to tell him your hurting, It only shows him how deeply you care.

I pray the Lord will bring you all the comfort you need, and bring you peace of mind about all that is happening with your family in this time of trouble.

I also continue to pray for your brother and the rest of your family.

I am so sorry Lori! GraftMeIn summed things up very well. Sorrow is not a lack of faith. It is only natural to feel that way over disappointing news. Among many things, God is the Great Comforter. He wants to give you and Rock and the rest of your family comfort. His word says: "Come to me, you who are heavy burdened, and I will give you rest." Just keep depending on Him, Lori and He will see you through, whatever comes.

Still praying!

My Dear little sister! You have such a way of touching my heart. I see you reaching out because you have answered your own questions and indeed you do know.

The sorrow is, of course, not a lack of faith, it is simply love. Your heart is filled with love and compassion, and such people hurt and grieve deeply. I have a little experience with that, myself.

Anyway, I am not going to launch off into a long post on love, but remeber what you have said. God is still in charge, and you can believe one thing for sure. God never makes a mistake, and in the end God will receive Glory from this situation. Lay this at the feet of Jesus and rest in His love and renew your strength.

You are ever in my prayers.

I do not believe that God takes our sadness as a sign of lack of faith. What you are feeling is helplessness and rightly so. I feel sadness for your brother, too. We may never understand why God chooses to heal some and not others. As long as there is breath, there is hope also. Keep strong in your faith. One day we will not have to experience sickness or death. Is your brother a believer in Christ?

Dearest sister.

Sorry about your brother but keep in mind that miracles do happen and God can bring miracles to you. We're here for you and your brother. Do try to ask him to come here. We'll be praying for both of you.

Dear God, i pray for her brother and for her now that you may bring a miracle to both of them. You are awesome and loving. These diseases were never part of your plan. I pray to You that you may be close to both and show them your love which nothing, not even disease can corrupt. I pray to you to heal them and lift their spirits up. Amen.

You guys just don't know what you do for me. I'm the strong one in the family. I'm the tough one. I'm the one who doesn't cry, and I'm the one who takes action. I always say it comes from years of disappoinments, you learn to just not let things get to you...but they still get to you. I can't tell my family that, I can't let them see me hurting as much as I feel inside, because they need me! I HAVE to be strong. I HAVE to be tough. You are where I vent the most, and maybe that's not fair, but I want you to know, that I appreciate you all. Some of you, I have grown as close as I can to, considering we're talking in a box, others I don't know as well. But I always feel your prayers. And thankyou, thankyou so much. Thankyou for giving me a place to come where I can be sad, where I can be me, where I can grieve openly, where I can get mad and ask questions...and where I really do feel Christs love and presence andI hope you know that I am always praying for you all as well.

why do you feel as though you can not let them see how you feel? You all need one another and now more than ever. I am the 'strong' one such as you but I sense that you are worried how they will react to your pain. Would you be viewed suddenly as a weak person? What you are feeling goes beyond saying it is understandable, you feel as bad as they do. So why would you cheat yourself by not allowing yourself to show emotion. It is perfectly reasonable to feel sadness. It's not something to be ashamed of, under these circumstances it is perfectly normal I would think. I would almost be willing to bet that you will feel alot better once you did allow yourself to grieve in their presence. Grieving is not something that shows lack of faith either. Lift up your family to God and be real to yourself. Be confident in knowing that it is alright to show how you really feel about your brother. You won't fall apart and it may even relieve some of your burden you are lugging around trying to be the'strong' one. I am praying.

I received an email yesterday from a friend, that I haven't spoken to in probably 2 months, just so much going on. She's gotten my prayer requests and has replied, and yesterday, I sent out another prayer request for my dad, he's in the hospital with a collapsed lung, yes, please pray.My father has R.A in the severest form, and this surgery,he is having tomorrow, they have given him a 50/50 chance of waking up. Of course my first fear, was that I was going to lose my dad, and he not being a christian, was going to lose his soul. My second fear, was, what will this do to my brother and his fight for his life? I was overcome, OVERCOME with fear!I felt truly ill. She sent this letter out 15 minutes before she got my prayer request, but I didn't get it for an hour, Gods timing I believe, so, God told her of my "end of the rope feeling" I was having, before she new there was more added to my rope! Does that make sense? Anyway,I'd like to share it with you.

<DIV>Lori,</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Hi it's me.&nbsp; Just a few minutes ago I felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to send you some scriptures on not fearing.</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Proverbs 3:25-26&nbsp; Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Psalm 34:4,7&nbsp;&nbsp; I sought the Lord and He answered me; he delivered me from all my fears....The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Psalm 23:4&nbsp;&nbsp; I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and staff they comfort me.</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, love, and a sound mind.</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Proverbs 3:5-8&nbsp;&nbsp; Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.&nbsp; In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.&nbsp; Don't be wise in your own eyes.&nbsp; Fear the Lord and shun evil.&nbsp; This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Lori, God wants you to know that he loves you.&nbsp; He has heard everyone of your concerns.&nbsp; He wants you to rest in Him.&nbsp; He wants&nbsp;to quiet your thoughts.&nbsp; You are the apple of His eye.&nbsp; He doesn't want you carrying the burdens you have been carrying.&nbsp; He wants you to lay them down.&nbsp; THey are too heavy for you. His burden is light and easy.&nbsp; He is holding you so close to Him.&nbsp;I sense He is saying that Rocky is so dear to Him, but you are too.&nbsp; I sense that He wants you to go to Him for&nbsp;your needs.&nbsp; He wants to care for&nbsp;your every need.&nbsp; I sense you haven't been asking things for you but for everyone else.&nbsp; He wants you to know you are so special to Him and He wants you to ask for you. There's a scripture that comes to mind that says you have not because you ask not.&nbsp; God says ask me.&nbsp; Ask me for things for you.&nbsp;&nbsp; This is not selfish. You are as important as anyone else you have been praying for.&nbsp; ASK !!! Lori,&nbsp;God loves you sooooo much.&nbsp;&nbsp; </DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I love you too!&nbsp;&nbsp; Jenny</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>

<DIV>&nbsp; After getting this letter, I went to a prayer meeting last night. It was wonderful. Whenever fear comes in to destroy, I'm to just close my eyes, and say" restore Father, restore" .

</DIV>
<DIV>And for today, that works.&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>Godbless you all,</DIV>
<DIV>Lori</DIV>

Oh Lori, it seems that so much has been placed on your family at this time. Just know that I am continuing to lift you and your family up in prayer.

Dear Lord, I just ask you to be especially close to Lori at this time. Lord, please give her strength when she feels her's is fading. Help her to keep her eyes focused on You. We don't know why her family is facing all of these trials and tribulations right now. But we do know that you will be with them, supporting them, guiding them, through it all. I ask for Your healing hands to be on Rocky and Lori's father. I also pray that You open up Lori's father's heart to Your love and saving grace. Help them to feel Your very presence in their lives in a special way today, Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
