Thanks !!!

As long as Charismatic/Spirit-filled have to put up with those who have their own "sub-forum", there's no point to stay.

I always believed that Charismatic/Spirit-filled have their own "APART" from the two sub-forums. The two groups can share the forum (should be renamed from Spirit-filled) and keep their sub-forums since they have so much in common.

There are MANY Charismatic Christians from almost all denominations that we need to consider a forum just for Charismatic Christians.

Charismatics are defined as:
"One who believes that all the various spiritual gifts (or charisms) listed in the New Testament (including but not limited to the manifestations gifts found in I Corinthians 12) are active in the Church today and desirable in the life of the individual believer. It is not required that the individual exercises/exhibits any specfic spiritual gift(s)." which you can find this in their forum here: CF's Definition of Charismatic

I started the conversation back in December 21, 2006 but it was closed due to the postings after 50 some  posts. Seperate sub-forum.............for Spirit-filled Charismatics

I don't see CF is willing to make this change since 6 months ago when I first came up with this. :sigh:
Yet, they creae a whole sub-forum for Mariology?

Um . . . . okay . . . .

Jim,

I know maybe something about how you feel. I don't share most of the beliefs of anyone of that forum, either, but I'm pentecostal/charismatic. There does not seem to be any forum or subforum for me. I'm not liberal, but I'm also very NOT Republican/establishment. And you know the bent of that forum politically.

I'm not WOF, and I have deep misgivings about health/wealth thing, particularly the prosperity gospel, and those espousing it. More and more, it seems we are the minority there. Its so lonely.

I would hope you reconsider. Your voice of dissent is needed for balance, even without a separate forum. I've read many of your posts, and I appreciate them, even though I don't have much time to post anymore.

No offense, but run, RUN from the cyber community and the false sense of accomplishment and family it creates! Go and make friends in the REAL WORLD and pray I can find the self discipline to rid myself of my internet addictions!!!!

Pentecostals also have their own subforum but I trust you're not suggesting that they not be permitted to post here? ;)

Apart from that the thread was in this forum which was the wrong place, I closed it at YOUR request, Jim!! Nothing to do with a staff action.

Why don't you try it in the Suggest New Forums. Staff have also been trying to get this for ages but there seems little support as the rest of the staff (i.e. those who don't work on this bit of the forum) neither understand the need nor even what we're talking about! Your support in this endeavour would be most welcome!

Yes there is - the Pentecostal forum! N o-one seems to make much bother in there but maybe it's because it's a feature sadly under utilised!

Jim, I grew up Catholic. I got saved at age 19. I was filled with the Holy Spirit at age 21. By the grace of God, and that alone, I have a teaching gift, but above all I am an intercessor.

I am not a Pentecostal. I am just a Spirit-filled, believing Christian.

It has been tough at times for me at CF. Even my most basic beliefs, such as the valid use of the WHOLE Word of God have been challenged. Yet, sometimes I get a PM from someone who is really hungry, really seeking. And that makes even the humiliation of being slammed repeatedly on a supposedly non-debate sub-forum worth it.

You have been a friend. Nevertheless, I am not asking you to stay. I understand.

Same here.
But I did buy into that at one point,
well sort of.
It always left a naggy feeling
in the back of my mind (thank God)

I would hope you reconsider.

False sense of family?
I think it's real thing.
Not a 'ton' of 'em, but then
the Bible says there wont'
be a ton of 'em.

You haven't found this a place
to form any real relationships?

I like it because you love the
person in the heart, can't
see the warts and all.
Makes for growth in that IMO.

In Real Life, I am not keen on
hanging out with people who don't
bathe etc.

So this is a good thing here.

No I really dont find much family here (I have another forum for that!). Only a periodic distraction where I can exchange ideas and analyse them without having to carry on a lengthy convo on a topic which I am unacquainted with. I think it is shallow for me to only love the heart of a person while avoiding any physical shortcomings, but I dont impose that view on others. I also believe physical contact is a necessity to forming family relationships (barring any medical condition). If you absolutely need this place though have at it! :)
