Some time ago, I started a thread in the Prayer Forum called Never Ending Prayer. At that time I asked that people join us in posted whatever prayers they wished, even if they were short, informal, sentence prayers. This was not intended to be a place to post long elequent prayers or for anyone to read and judge anothers prayers or give them a grade on their ability.

This was a simple effort to bring unity of spirit with all Christians here. I believe we need to seek not only combining our prayers but other ways of concentrating on those things that bring us together rather than the differences we have. The Rec room is also a good example of ways in which we can unite in harmony and refresh ourselves. Recreation is aptly named. It is Re-Creation, in a very real sense.

There is great stength in unity. This is a very clear message of the Bible. And with the members of a board like this, united in prayer and fellowship, and with a singleness of purpose to bring Glory to God, we can rock the world for Jesus.

Can you imagine, if each one of us here just led, JUST ONE, person to Jesus, ever in our lifetiem, and then each one of those did the same and so on, do you see how many lives would be saved? WOW!

But we can do even more. What do you think? What ways do you see to bring us together to win others for Christ?

very good
Unity is the one thing that the Church needs most.
But what I have been learning lately has been that if we seek true revival and unity personaly with God, than the unity with others will fall into place. If we have an attitude that fears, loves, and adores Christ, we wont get caught following after meaningless debates, campains, and movements. There are a few things that matter most, that is the belief and faith in Jesus Christ, and the faith in His word as true and undefiled. while the latter is nowhere connected to salvation, it is vital for leading others to Christ, and growing in Him ourselves

Hey Gerry,

Good thread!!

There are lots of folks who post on the Forums who are from a variety of backgrounds.

Some are Christians. Some are atheists. Some are folks, like myself, who love God and do things on their own. Some are non-denominational. Some may appreciate what organized religions teach (I do), but remain apart, for their own reasons.

What a cornucopia, eh? Well, what I might be interested in seeing is folks posting what they feel folks AGREE on, across the board, as possible. What is the common ground amongst us all? Then, build on that.

For example, here's a real easy one: Everyone who is a member of Christian Forums is here. For what reason? I'd say, fellowship. What does this fellowship mean to you?

It's astonishing to think about. :)

You are so right. I have some compiled numbers on that. It is staggering. Thing it proves is that we Christians, as a group, are failing to lead others.

I think there are many reasons for thst and a unified effort would change things dramatically.

Well Patty, you are right. But I don't want to bogg down in an endless debate over definitions or semantics. Fellowship can be defined many ways, but work seems to be the same idea to most people.

When I first came here, I had a royal ball, one night, and I remarked about the awesome way we worked and played together. I think that is the key to unity here. We need to work and play together.

We definately need unity in the call to share the gospel with everyone who comes in contact with Christian Forums. Alot of the reason why I enjoy this site is of the fellowship, but it goes beyond that. I think of it as my responsibility to minister here. A house divided can not stand. Yep, we do need unity! Lord, let all of us here have as their top priority a love and committment to You that we may yearn for the willingness and the opportunity to lead others to you right here on Christian Forums. You have blessed us with this message board. May we all be strong for You.

Wonderful post Gerry,
Praying together is a great way to come together as you said. Another way is to simply share with each other what the Lord has done for us, or is doing in our life. This is the very reason he does things for us, so that we can share those things with others.

Amen. I guess that is really what the devotionals forum is all about. At least that is really what I have used it for so muh. But now I am wondering if maybe there should be a forum just for Testimonies, where people can just share what God had done for them and how He has blessed them. I am not sure. What do you think?

I think a forum just for personal testimonies would be great. someone that's just seeking, or learning would probably learn alot from it.

Hey Gerry,

That's a terrific idea - a testimonials forum. How about suggesting it to admin?

LOL Problem is they may pound my chest. Perhaps I will mention it, but they will likely only say there are already forums for that. Not if Paulewog, however, was to suggest it, maybe......

Oh well. We shall see.
