The man walked out onto the hill overlooking the multitude of people. The wind was soft that day, and the birds could be heard in the distance. His disciples were working hard to make sure everyone could hear Him. A smile broadend His face when He looked at all the people gathered. His favorite part about the people in front of Him was that they had no real idea WHO He was. They had heard stories about Him, but most of them hadn't been close enough to actualy get to know Him.

He sat on the ground gently, John (the one whom He loved) insisted He take his coat and sit on it. BUT like always the man insisted to John that He was fine, and gave him a smile that reasured him that He was. You see this man was different. He had away of making you feel welcome even if you weren't sure you were. While everyone else around you was screaming for your death, He gently took you aside and gave you that smile that made you know everything was going to be ok.

In the crowd one young man asked his father who the man was. His father just looked at him with a blank stair and resigned the question. To be honest the man didn't know, but what he did know was that the smile, regardless of the torn cloths and dirt on His face, was reasuring. Everyone around the man was calling Him a teacher of the law. While others were calling Him the Son of God. Either way the man knew He wanted to hear more of what this Jesus had to say.

His followers looked at Him with tears in their eyes because they had to deliver to Him some terrible news. "Master" they said "there simply isn't enough food to feed all these people." There again was that warm opening smile darting acrossed His face. He took a little boy sitting next to Him in His arm and gently looked at him. Mark wasn't sure, be he could have swore the smile on His face had gotten larger. He put the boy down, and as though the little boy had given him inspiration, He took some bread and some fish and he fed the flock in front of Him. All the while the smile never leaving His face.

Again the same little boy looked at his father and asked him why the man had done this. Confused and baffled the man looked at his son and only said one thing. He said the only thing that warm radient smile would allow "love." Next to him the man heard a women ask what group or orginization she had to be part of to follow the man.....and again the older man, his son now in his arms, said one word......"love."

I miss the days I didn't have to think about hard question of "what makes me a follower of Christ." Or "am I going to hell or not because I did something wrong." I miss the days when I didn't have to log onto a Christian website and hear people argue over what it means to be a Christian. You know our Master said something that I think each and everyone of us should always remember.......Love each other.

You see I miss the days that this :tutu: was used more in posts to make people laugh. I miss the days when this  was used not out of frustration but in conjunction with :tutu:  :swoon: to make people laugh.

I wasn't an English major so you will have to forgive my story. I am not very good at prose. I wrote this tonight not because I want to make anyone mad or because I have an agenda. I wrote it because I believe the feeding of the thousands is a story of what CF should be to all of us. You see each and everyone of those people standing on the hill didn't have much of a clue of who or what the man Jesus was about. What they did know is that they wanted to get to know. The best part of all of it was that Jesus wanted to get to know them as well. Each and everyone of those people came from a different place in their lives, and frankly some of them were much worse off then others. Yet Jesus fed all of them. All those people stood silent on that hill when He spoke and at the end of it none of them called themselves Christians. What they did know is that the smile on the man's face made them want to follow Him.

CF for me is like that hill.....I don't exactly know how to deffine Christian.....but what I do know is that I want to get to know Jesus better......maybe that is what it means to be a Christian. Maybe what counts is love and a sincere want to know the man with the smile better. What I do know is that it isn't sitting on the hill and arguing who knows the man better.

I wish I could get every person from CF on a hill for one hour and ask for silence. Then on a big jumbo screen pictures of Christ would scroll acrossed. Then we would all just leave. That one hour of silance would be enough to make us all want to know Jesus more, and I know for a fact that it would make us all feel a little closer.

I know just like you all do that the CCC and the Bible has an answer for what it means to be a Christian. As does every denomination. When you get to the heart and sole of all of them I believe this (be it wrong or not): They focus on knowing Christ better and loving one another. And that for me is the answer to what it means to be a Christian.

This is probly a long ramble but I don't care lol. Whoever read it all kudos to you. I wrote this because I'm lazy and couldn't find Jeff's thread on deffining a Christian or whatever. I also wrote it because I was bored and I felt like it was the right thing to do. Eh take it for what it is. Please no one come in here and argue. Infact I'm going to make this an open thread and I want there to be no responces. Lets make this thread a silent hill where we post our favorite pictures of Jesus. No words just pictures. Everyone is welcome to post their favorite picture.
