We were walking by the orchards by our house tonight, and we found a little orange and swirl kitten.

It is a female, and we are calling her Bunnie because it appears that her back legs have been broken, so she hops like a bunny. She is also missing her tail which I found to be really strange.

We will be taking her to the vet tomorrow, so please keep her and us in your thoughts and prayers, as we would like to have a new addition to the family.

I will pray. I was wondering if since she is missing her tail could she be a minx, or lynx cat? I guess I'm hoping it is that instead of something really bad that could have happened. I can't stand to see animals hurt , anyways I'll pray everthing turns out okay

I don't think she's a Manx or whatever they call them. I think she was probably abused and someone cut her tail off or something. I was crying when we found her, but she is SOOOOO good natured. We have two cats already, but one more is just a gift from God! :)

oh poo, I was hoping she was supposed to have no tail rather than the alternative. I'm so glad that she is good natured. So many abused animals are angry little babies and I can't say I blame them too much, I'd be angry too if somebody abused me  , I just can't stand people who abuse animals or humans for that matter, makes me angry.

sorry about that I tend to get carried away with that subject.

That's just fine. My husband and I are going to set up a rescue center once we buy our own home, and I feel just the same way you do!

She is crying like crazy right now, and it's making me a little nuts, but she has a right to I suppose. I just have to go to bed soon for work tomorrow! :)

Just wanted to give an update!

Bunny IS a Manx cat that was abandoned because of the deformities to her back... that is why she drags her legs. The vet said she was born that way! Our cats LOVE her. They are all playing well, and loving on her, so we know that this is meant to be! :)

Aside from hubby being a firefighter he also works animal control within our town. I can not tell you how many times my home has become a temporary shelter for kitties. I live in gov. housing though, I can not afford to be kicked out over these cute little critters. I really wish there was an assistant program to help the cost of spading and neutering.

Awe Smurf, What a wonderful story! It may have been people who abandoned your new kitten, but the Lord kept watch over it and gave it a loving home where it can and will be cared for. And if he cares that much about that one little kitten, then think about how much more he cares for us, and watches over all our needs also :)
