Well, I've seen a few of the "popular" people really take a nose-dive since HS. My mom ran into one who was in rehab for meth. It's not really that I'm happy to see them fall, it's more that I'm happy to see the things they depended on fail them.
My mom is a nurse and she often sees the "cool" people from high school. The ones who aren't dead, strung out or suffering from multiple system failure do to all the things they did to be "cool", are still doing the same thing they were doing in high school (reliving the glory days, still dressing the same, still hanging out at the same places, still driving the same car, etc.) They didn't focus on developing themselves intellectually and they failed to realize that the world does not value the things that make you "cool" in high school. The world is interested in what you can contribute which is usually the things that you've learned.

Well, I'm using Linux right now...
Other than that, I had a conversation about cell phones, got stuck on a long train of thought in my head about german grammar, and found myself looking forward to a surplus computer sale I read about.

I had an argument over the cataclysmic conundrum (whether or not a T-rex would win against 100,000 turkeys)

yeah...
Wild, Free Range or Previous Caged Turkeys?

And would the T-Rex be from Dinosaur Comics, Jurassic Park or when Dinosaurs really lived(Along side man)

I was just joking becaiuse I knew if I said it someone would say something about that. And yes I was popular in HS but that is not a bad thing I am now a youth minister and I get to help people so listen I was just kidding I did not mean to ruffle your feathers. A little joking goes a long way. Smile, God lives you!

You think bullying is something to joke about? Do you know what it's like to be bullied? I'd think in light of the Virginia Tech tragedy more people would understand how being excluded and bullied was detrimental to one's self esteem. But I guess not.

well lately I've been catching up on my Harry Potter theories for book 7 :sorry: I've read heaps of editorials and essays on the subject and spent way too much time studying the cover art for clues about what will happen.

i've never been 'obsessed' with anything like that before, so this is all new fun and games for me! :help: ^_^
Oh - I'm catching up as soon as finals are over...

And I defintely asked my mom to preorder number 7 for me for my birthday.

Being bullied does not make you go out and do something like VT. I was bullied as a kid in grade school and in high school. I was mad at the people doing it but never wanted to kill them. I forgave them. To excuse events like VT because someone was picked on is just crazy. The guy and other people like him have a screw or wire lose already. A small puppy running across the road could set them off.

Ya know, I read a book years ago on the absurdity of assuming all assassins were "insane". For someone to have a threat-be it other people or not-the natural tendency is to remove that threat. Why can it not be sane for a man to think, "giving my life to take the lives of others is worth it"?

Nothing makes anyone do anything. I believe completely that he made the decision and he was able to make the decision not to. But that doesn't mean that bullying had no effect on his mental state.
